About this listen

A small town, enemies-to-lovers romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry.

One old farmhouse brought them together.

It could also tear them apart. Gigi has just uprooted her whole world to start a new life. The unexpected gift of a farmhouse in small-town Montana is just what she and her daughter need to escape big-city loneliness. The last thing she needs is attitude from the town’s sheriff, the most perfectly attractive and ruggedly handsome man she’s ever laid eyes on—and a complete jerk.

Jess knows all about women like Gigi. Beautiful. Sexy. Scheming. She’s stolen his sanctuary, the farmhouse that should have been his. But along with a face full of freckles, she’s got a sharp wit and a backbone of steel—something he doesn’t discover until after making a complete fool of himself. If he can earn back her trust and win her heart, he might just find the home he’s always needed.

Man did I love this book! Job well done Devney! I love how Jess was this grouchy alpha male and then you have Gigi who is sweet and caring. Gigi is a single mom who moves to Montana to start a new life after much heartbreak. I loved how this story unfolded! It drew me in and kept my attention. Their is a little bit of everything in this story, all the feels! I am excited to dive into the next books! If you are looking for a great read, I strongly suggest this book!

I absolutely loved this book! It was a sweet small town love story with a slight edge of mystery. A single mom meets and clashes with the hometown sheriff.
I completely swooned when Jess called Roe "Little Bit"!! That was a pet that name my Dad had called me!!

“Come here, little bit,” Jess said, kneeling down by the dog and reaching out his hand. When he called Roe “little bit,” it warmed my heart. No one except for me, not even Ben, had called her by a pet name. I loved that she had that kind of special affection from Jess."

I can't wait to start on the next book by this author. I completely adore her writing and style!

**For a reread, I listened to the audiobook and loved it even more! Perfect narration by Ava Erickson and Joe Arden!!

This was quite an addictive book. The narration was great and I really love everything Ava Erikson narrates. She is so easy to listen to and just get long in the story she's telling. I always love the characters she gives voice to and Georgia was no different. Joe Arden is a nice job as Jess as well. Loved them both for this book.

I see now why everyone loves Devney Perry so much. Her writing is off the charts amazing. I fell in love with this book within the first two minutes of listening. This book is so addictive, sweet, and gives you all kinds of feels. There was never a dull moment and it definitely keeps you thrilled. The romance was sweet and I did like Georgia and Jess together. Rowen was the cutest little girl ever and all the other characters in this book were also very lovable.

The only thing I didn't like were aspect of Georgia and Jess's relationship where he was a little too alpha male and controlling. I wasn't Gerogia to actually stand her ground when it came to Jess instead of him making demands and her giving in immediately, especially when she complained to him about things he did that she didn't like. She needed a bit more of a back bone in their relationship. Other than that I really loved this book.

Sweet and Addictive!

Rowan, I love kids!

Do you think The Coppersmith Farmhouse needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

Not with the same couple but with the supporting characters.

Any additional comments?

This was a sweet romance with a touch of mystery. The hero is a bit of a caveman so be prepared!

Gigi a Single mom found herself in a small town after a death of her friend turn family. Jess Cleary is the sheriff that doesn’t know what hit him when Gigi moves to town. Add a town that has all new problems, makes a great suspenseful, beautiful romance

This is a hard book for me to rate since I really didn't like the beginning but loved the middle and ending. In the very beginning I loved Gigi, She was confident and strong and then Jess comes in and takes over her life... seriously takes it over. I really didn't get why she just let him plow right over her and everything she said. I like a good bad guy and an alpha guy just as much as the next guy but in the beginning he was just an a$$hole... and she just acted like he was so pretty it was ok that he acted like that. Once they were together things started to get more normal and he was much more like an alpha good guy than a jerk. By the end of the book I loved Jess and his relationship with Gigi's daughter so much! This book is full of mystery and honestly I knew who the bad guy was right away but I still liked the way the story went. I'm really hoping for a book on Felicity, Jess's sister, she has a story and I want it now.

The narration was good. It was about 80% Ava & 20% Joe and they both did a great job.

The story line was good. Georgia the main female character is an idiot. Jess the main male character was a well written character. I don't see how Georgia can find her way out of a paper bag. Was not happy with the way she acted or the lack of common sense she had.

I finished the book but it was a struggle

Let me start by saying that I loved the story well enough. It was intense, suspenseful, and the sex was hot. What I didn't like was how Jess was manipulative. The premise behind Gigi coming to live at the farmhouse was heartfelt, and it touched my heart. From the get-go Jess was a jerk, but after hearing Gigi's plight, he forced an apology on her and made demands of her without even knowing her. When I say manipulative...every time he overstepped his bounds and she called him out on it, he would kiss her or dismiss her concerns. She in turn would forget about her reason for being upset, which were legit reasons. I did however, love his relationship with Rowan. That was sweet and genuine. I loved little Rowan throughout this story. Overall, the story was good, but my rating is a 3.75 because manipulation does not sit well with me, even if the guy is sexy and swoon-worthy. He had some good attributes, but...

Manipulate much?
