Everything you need to know and more

This book is the most comprehensive compilation of chakra knowledge I have had the pleasure to discover. I appreciate the extremely well rounded approach to a system that transcends religion, culture and time. I have spent years cultivating a relationship with the chakra system and this book has taught me aspects I haven’t even considered. It is a must read for anyone who is seriously dedicated to understanding chakras.

Great book, distracting voice

I’m into the the 4th chapter and I also have the actual book. Normally I only do one or the other, not both — I either read the book or listen to the audio. Since the book is so full of content and the fact that there are many things to cover on the chakras, I felt that in this case it was better for me to ‘read along’, as I sometimes have a little trouble focusing when in fact I am really trying to understand a topic that can be a little complicated.

Okay, so the book itself is great, I love Cyndi Dale. I have many of her books and I have a great deal of respect for her. In this book I feel she does her background work and let’s the audience know the history behind the chakras — but she also adds her own experience in working with the chakras through energetic hands on work. I love the examples and the illustrations, as well as the overall in-depth explanations.

Okay now to the narrator. I’m not familiar with Leslie Howard except for in this book. She has a lovely voice and for the most part I feel I am able to follow the content well. However, for me, I felt she over emphasized words just a little too much. I think it’s good to read with feeling, but at times it had more of a romance novel feel to it. For instance, in sentences where it’s obvious the author is conveying a heartfelt feeling, the narrator reads it with a lot of feeling but just a little overboard.
I’m not saying I want a robotic reader, just maybe don’t draw out the word so much. It was distracting for me enough to where I would have to stop the audio and read the passage myself.

Horrible

I finally gave up and turned it off. It was repetitive and annoying. Too much talking about what she was going to cover in later chapters.
