About this listen

Proper Regency ladies are not supposed to become magicians—but Miss Abigail Wilder is far from proper.

The marriageable young ladies of London are dying mysteriously, and Abigail Wilder intends to discover why. Abigail’s father, the Lord Sorcier of England, believes that a dark lord of faerie is involved. But while Abigail is willing to match her magic against Lord Longshadow, neither her father nor high society believes that she is capable of doing so.

Thankfully, Abigail is not the only one investigating the terrible events. Mercy, a street rat and self-taught magician, insists on joining Abigail in unraveling the mystery. Mercy is unpredictable, and her magic is strange and foreboding—but the greatest danger she poses may well be to Abigail’s heart.

A queer romantic faerie tale of defiant hope and love against all odds, set in Olivia Atwater’s enchanting version of Regency England.

Charming, cleverly plotted, and beautifully narrated. A good read.

Wow I’m so happy I read this series and so sad it’s over! Narrator was amazing (and consistent) in all three books, story is solid and has enough twists without being too intense, and the love story is so wholesome and good. Wish I could read them again to relive the feel-good vibes and experience getting to know these characters again :)

Great narrator and story, what a trilogy!

I loved the series, will there be more? Hate getting done with 'last' book and missing characters, wondering what they're up to now...

Wonderful story and characters

Another wonderful tale! I absolutely loved this series! Narration was amazing too! Wish there was a four book in this world!

Loved!

The other two books were in my opinion very easy to get hooked on. Abigail Wilder was tough to follow at first but the heartstrings pulled at the end and that very sly red herring was great. This while series is masterful and a very lovely light read.

Slow start, moving finale

Great pacing! I love this universe ❤️. The narrator is excellent. I hope Atwater continues to write this series. It's thoughtful in a way that I wish more fantasy was. It's honest and informative.

Best pacing of the series.

I could not have loved this story more. This author has such a gift for writing complex and interesting characters. Somehow she makes the happily ever after feel very believable and very deserved. I can’t wait to read more from her.

Beautiful Love Story

I love this series! I can be very picky about narrators, but Madeleine Leslay is excellent! My favorite in the series is still Ten Thousand Stitches, but they are all good.

Great narrator and story!
