Narration is horrible.

I have read all of Beverly Jenkins' books multiple times. The narration of this book is a disservice to a wonderful story. Please consider doing this again with a new narrator.

Took me by surprise

It was good. It just through me off hearing a male voice. I did truly enjoy the story. I was cracking up laughing at times while I was driving by myself. People in the car next to would just stare at me. I almost died when they had to give up the steak
So a paying customer could eat it.
Good book over all

Night Hawk ( gotta live it)

Loved the audio version of this book. I was pleasantly surprised by the narrator; he did an excellent job.

Great Western

Beautiful tidbits of Black and Indian and Black Indian history in late 1800s at the end of the Old West era. One review struck me as a bit racist when s/he mentioned it being the story of an interracial relationship. History is history, love is love and there’s no racial exclusivity of real love. The biracial heritage of both protagonists enhances the story, rather than detracts from it!
This novel would make a great movie, and we don’t get many western movies in today’s film creations. It also would be a great addition to high school reading lists.

Enjoyable Read

I was so intrigued by Ian , and his many faceted personality. He was swoon worthy😊. I had my share of giggles after his encounter with Maggie. She just could not seem to catch a break even though all she was trying to do was be the best person and worker she knew how to be. However due to prejudice and outright meanness her plight was not an easy one. Once she became Ian’s responsibility The chemistry between the two was magical and at times comical. I found them to be a perfect match for one another.
I had hoped the issue with Langley would have been totally brought to closer however it wasn’t. I also would have liked to have learned more about.

I have read several of Ms Jenkins Historical Romance novels and have enjoyed each one. I appreciate the amount of research she does in order to include some historical facts in her stories. Again this was an enjoyable read.

So good!

Preacher met Maggie when the posse that was after her stopped the train a sheriff had her on. She was accused of murder for the accidental death of a man who was attacking her. The sheriff left her in Preacher's hands. They fell in love on their journey from one part of Kansas to another. Preacher hadn't ever encountered a woman as feisty as Maggie. She made him feel ready to move on from the pain of losing his first wife.
I enjoyed this book so much. Like any Ms. Bev book, this one had a lot of history and a lot of romance. Very well done. I had met Preacher in other books and was glad to see how he got his happily ever after.

Very Good, but NOT The Revolutionary War Era

What made the experience of listening to Night Hawk the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the story overall and liked the heroine very much - it gave very good information about the West and details about the plight of Natives and Blacks during the time period after Reconstruction (better than the South).

What was one of the most memorable moments of Night Hawk?

The heroine's escape from the Preacher! :)

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The performance could have been better - I didn't care for Ian's voice and some of the minor characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Life Beyond the Pain.

Any additional comments?

I think I would have enjoyed it more with a different narrator.

WOW 😲 LOVE 💕 IT

This is my third book from Beverly Jenkins. It is a historical romance, it did not disappoint me. Love ❤️ the characters and all the twists and turns. Could not put it down. While worth the credit. It flows great through out the books 📚.

Love the narrated Kevin R. Free. When he talks as the Preacher gave me goosebumps 😛. I hope to hear from him again. 🙂
