Publisher's summary

Contained here are nine glorious episodes from the idyllic world of Wodehouse. There’s a crime wave which broke out toward the middle of a fine summer afternoon and was to rock Blandings Castle to its foundations; Ukridge appears on Corky’s doorstep at three in the morning, wearing his yellow mackintosh and requesting a whisky and soda; while the Oldest Member warns of the folly of driving into the father of the girl you love....

Absolutely fabulous

Narration is wonderful and the stories are very enjoyable. Highly recommended for a summer read or any other time for that matter.

Good stories, not the best performance.

The readings by Jonathan Cecil are much better. The stories in the volume are more pure Wodehouse mirth.

The Pinnacle of Wit

Any additional comments?

If you are a fan of Jeeves & Wooster stories, you'll definitely one to give this one a go. While it's a mixed bag of characters, every sentence of every story carries that patented P.G. Wodehouse wit, which is a pleasure to the ear and never fails to bring a chuckle. There are a fair number of golf-related stories in this volume too, if that tickles your fancy.

Missing a section at 1 hour 45 minutes

Wodehouse is always enjoyable, and this does not disappoint. However this recording is missing a small section at about 1 hour 45 minutes - Hope audible fixes it!

A Veritable Smorgasbord of Wodehouse

This volume has everything: Blandings Castle, Mr. Mulliner, Golf Stories, Freddie Widgeon of the Drones and three of the best Ukridge tales Wodehouse ever wrote. The only dimension of his imaginary universe that's missing here is Jeeves and Wooster. But what's here is all so good you don't notice the gap. Oh, and then there's Nigel Lambert's perfect performance of these nine stories. (So why haven't you clicked "purchase" yet?)

Bought this one on cassette years ago and listened till the tapes wore out. It's good to have these screwball sagas again, in a far more portable format and at an unbelievable reasonable price.

Alright, but not Wodehouse's best

This collection only contains one story about Emsworth. it is still worth listening to, but it delivers fewer laughs for sure
