AWOL on the Appalachian Trail is Miller’s account of this thru-hike from Georgia to Maine. Listeners are treated to rich descriptions of the Appalachian Mountains, the isolation and reverie, the inspiration that fueled his quest, and the rewards of taking a less conventional path through life. While this book abounds with introspection and perseverance, it also provides useful passages about hiking gear and planning.

Good Story but poor sound quality
The story was good. A nice almost childrens story and the Narrator dis a very nice job of giving emotion to the character. My only negative on this was the sound quality. It sounded hollow, almost tinny. The rich fullness of the usual recording was missing.

Very Cute Very Short Short Story As a Child goes out in Woods
A Child with careful instructions from her mother is allowed to take her first trip into the woods. But then there is this beautiful butterfly that grabs her attention and all mother's rules and instructions take a back seat just for a second but that is long enough to land her in hot water. The best part is the ending which I didn't see coming, but I was really into the story I missed the clues. Loved it, Let's hope the writer gives more glimpses into this world. Loved it.

Ok - the book is better
I just bought the short stories in the audible format to have the set. I read the book a while back and I like the book version much better. The rating is this low because of the audio quality.
