Monster or internally anguished?

Being able to have the view point of the killer is an added bonus to a book. Listening to his anguish almost makes one feel sorry for him. It brings to question, are some psychopaths internally hateful of themselves? Do some actually want to be “normal”. Interesting read that makes one think!

love triangle between a cop and a killer...

Wow! This book kept me so wired up! Carl is a serial killer...always has been...he enjoyed torturing animals when he was a kid, then he upgraded to women. Carl is extremely intelligent and has been meticulous with his kills and has avoided detection by the police for many years. On one fateful night, Carl has just murdered another unsuspecting young woman when he hears people coming and runs away...into the path of a truck. Nurse Susie is on her way home when she witnesses a pedestrian accident. She stays with the victim until the ambulance arrives and follows them to the hospital. Over the next several weeks, Susie learns that Carl has no family so she regularly checks in on him. Carl wakes up with amnesia...his only memory is that of a beautiful angel. Imagine his surprise when he meets Susie and realizes that she is the 'angel'. The two become friends...but as Carl's memory slowly returns, he begins to battle with his serial side...which will win and is Susie safe from Carl? Ben is a homicide detective, who is investigating the murder of Carl's last victim. On the day that he attempted to visit Carl in the rehab facility, he runs into Nurse Susie...the two hit it off and have coffee...and Ben does not interview Carl...something that he'll later regret. Without giving away much more of the plot, let's just say that your blood pressure will not go down until the end of the book...it was fantastic!!!

nightmares for days

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

talk about some scary book. this was such a great book the narrator killed the story straight murdered it literally. I would listen to this but again if it didn't give me the heebie-jeebies excellent job definitely worth your time.

Mixed feelings about the book

I really enjoyed the performance from the narrator and the fact that you can see the point of view from a serial killer instead of just the victims and police. The thing that put me off was that the author downplays rape and the victim blames herself for not fighting harder and still feels like the rapist is her gentle friend. If it wasn’t for this I’d give the book a 5. Because of the narrator and the uniqueness of the storyline, I gave it a four. Had the rape been taken as serious as a rape actually is, the book would have been great!
