Excellent Book. Reading it is a healing experience.

This is an excellent book and I learned so much from the author. A lot of practical information here about what you can do to help heal yourself and to get external help/support if you find yourself reflected back at you in the pages and stories of this book.

I gained many new self-awarenesses from reading this book. After many years of “self-work” I have been frustrated with certain patterns and cycles that continue to reoccur despite my having “addressed them” in the past. This book helped me understand why that might be happening and that I hadn’t actually addressed these personal issues as much as I thought I had, because I never truly acknowledged the roots of these recurring patterns (I didn’t know what I didn’t know). This is why painful personal patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving continue to manifest themselves in my relationships and business despite my best efforts to address them. I addressed the symptoms of the problem without addressing the root of the problem itself. This is the issue with most self-help out there.

I feel inspired by this book to continue my path of healing, to connect with my true self, and to take better care of myself in meaningful ways that are suggested in the book. It seems embarrassing to say as a 41 y/o adult that I don’t know how to take care of myself without giving myself away, but to find a book that describes my experiences of disappearing and invisibility so clearly really made me recognize that I’m not alone and that I’m not at fault. I simply wasn’t taught these things in my upbringing.

I feel hopeful that I can heal and become more a more interdependent woman in my life and relationships. Thank you Beverly Engel. ❤️

Self help book for women

I loved it especially because it encouraged me to take significant and very fast steps toward my inner child. I've found new strategies on how to keep the truth within. It inspired me a lot when the author storied her experience on how she took some time for herself in the woods, crying out everything she had to heal and grieve. Well, that was part of my process as well, but I felt understood and very connected to my traumas. Loved the way she described what to do when feeling particular emotions and how to connect with the feminine power and stand out for yourself.
For me it is a great book that will remind me over and over again where to come back when I need the most support: Me, myself and I.
