About this listen

Abby

I only have one love now - the home furnishings business I'm building into an empire. Maybe money and success can't love me back, but they keep what's left of my heart safe. One-night stands are my way of scratching the occasional itch I get for something more. And no one's better for that than a sexy as sin hockey player I'll never see again after one very hot night together.

Luca

I used to love two things: hockey and women. But now my nieces and nephew are my top priority, because I'm raising them after tragedy stole their parents. Somehow, I balance single parenthood and my career as a forward for the Chicago Blaze. There's no time for women, until I get knocked on my ass by Abby Daniels. She's everything I've ever wanted, but her devastating past may end us before we even get started.

Contains mature themes.

Heart Warming

Beautifully written. Luca and Abby’s stories have depth and pull on the heart strings. The kids add to the story. Steamy love scenes. Would recommend to anyone who loves a good romance!

Luca and Abby

A heartwarming, emotional and enjoyable romance. Luca and Abby are cute together. They are two broken people who deserved to find some happiness. I'll be honest, I did not care for Abby for a big part of this story. Finding out that Abby had a hard life which explains why she is a hard person. My heart warmed to her and the way she treated the kids was simply beautiful. I enjoyed this story.

So great

Luca is perfect! I love hearing about him with the kids as he grows into their guardian/father. When he takes care of Abby throughout the entire story. As a man, as a lover, and as a partner. We even got some HOCKEY in this story.

Love after Loss ❤️🛋️🏒💙

Abby has felt a terrible loss, and deals with it through her business and quick encounters.

Luca also has dealt with loss, but fills his days caring for his brother’s children.

When they come together, it’s a perfect opportunity for both of them to expand their hearts.

I like that’s it’s not easy, it never is when it’s truly important, but it does work out in the end.

The narrators do a nice job with the characters.

excellent book

Oh how Abby struggles, but given her past she does remarkably well. Luca has his hands full. But when these two come together life happens in the very best way. Their story will touch hearts, make you smile and rekindle your belief that love really can happen even when your not looking.

Winner!

I loved this book, the story, the characters and narration. It was nice not having anyone faking a relationship or gross misunderstandings. It's included free with membership so that makes it even better!!!

Luca Book2 is a Melt Your Heart Success

OMG 1K Stars Overall !!!!
10/5 Stars - Narrators were awesome! I'm usually critical of voice work, I can't understand why the editors don't tweak the original voices through a modulator to make the men speaking the women characters (and vice versa) to sound more natural. We have so much technology available -OR- just STOP having the actors doing dual roles.
with that said, these two did an incredible job of the opposite sexes. I was so completely enveloped in this book, it flowed so easily, I didn't get any weird feelings listening to them di the opposite main characters.
Book 1, Anton was good, it had a lot of DV emotions to work through and I couldn't wait to hear Luca's story when it was mentioned he was single with three kids.
🥰🥰THIS OHHHHH THIS story was so great.🥰🥰
I cried, laughed, and had a few anxious memories of losing my child.
❤️‍🩹Beautiful story, perfectly paced, no insta-love or babies!!
Starting the next book now!

Need to read more of this series!

Another book I bought from the Audible sale a while back. Again it was because I’m hoping to meet the author at Book Bonanza this summer. I’d read the first book in this series as part of a blog tour a few years ago, and just didn’t get around to any more till now. I think I actually might have even liked this one better than the first, Victor. At first I had some issues with the male narrator’s voice, I ended up always having to turn the volume up when it was his turn. And while I kind of understood Abby’s viewpoint, I also thought that she might want a chance to be a part of some kid’s life. And oh Luca, he was such a great uncle, I loved him and his kids! This one got to where it was all going so well and then, wow, a big thing at the end that made me cry, but then in the end we got our HEA. A great book, and I look forward to reading more of this series when I get time!

Pretty emotional little story

Oh goodness, as a momma of littles this story made my nose sting and eyes water a few times. The FMC story and growth were relatable. Sometimes events didn’t feel in line with the story (leaving your “kids” with a woman you just started a relationship who has emotional baggage surrounding caring for kids instead of calling any of the other supportive people) (the main characters able to take plenty of time off work more than once when she runs her own company and it’s part of her DNA to grow her company). Anyway, I still enjoyed the story just fine.
