About this listen

The inner critic is the voice inside our heads reminding us that we are never "good enough". It's behind the insidious thoughts that can make us second-guess our every action and doubt our own value. The inner critic might feel overpowering, but it can be managed effectively. Meditation teacher and therapist Mark Coleman helps listeners understand and free themselves from the inner critic using the tools of mindfulness and compassion. Each chapter offers constructive insights into what creates, drives, and disarms the critic; real people's journeys to inspire and guide listeners; and simple practices anyone can use to live a free, happy, and flourishing life.

Excellent book

Mark Coleman’s book opened up my mind to how my own brain works, then helped me shape how I could change that functioning (or non-functioning). While conceptually restorative, meditation hadn’t helped me deeply until I read Mark’s description of an “inner critic”, With this structure, I was able to recognize, categorize, and ultimately de-prioritize the inner critic in my own life.

An eye opening journey into your own mind.

This book was transformative to the way I view myself and others. Mark Coleman uses each page to get you closer to separating who you are from your critic. I am inspired by the radical compassion Coleman encourages everyone to feel toward themselves and others.
