Weird Storm, family dislocated in time

The Brennan family finds themselves suddenly in the distant past facing uncertainties and a complete lack of logistical support. Fortunately, they have plenty of equipment, fuel, weapons, and work ethic. Pulling together, they face the looming food shortage, find friends and love, and discover they have what it takes to overcome.

First-time author, Bill Hurst, presents the Brennan family as super nice, heroic, and almost flawless characters that would be great as neighbors. His writing is gentle and inoffensive, reflecting the underlying good in humanity. He presented the struggles in straightforward and easily understandable ways, making the audiobook an easy listen. It should be noted that his research into the time period and the Michigan lifestyle during this period was accurate and well-presented.

First-time narrator, Ken Van Camp, did a decent job presenting the tale. He did well at separating the characters and making them easily identifiable. He pulled off a good accent for the trapper.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.

Great read

This was a totally engrossing story about a modern day family who was transported back in time to 1779.The author made the unbelievable seem possible. The narration was adequate and easy to listen to. I especially liked the voice of the French Canadian trapper.
