About this listen

The Apocalypse Tamer Complete Series Bundle is 4 full books of a LitRPG adventure about a young man who gains the ability to tame apocalyptic monsters to survive after the System Invasion.

Basil Bohen was asleep when the System arrived and the world changed...

Dungeons suddenly popped up across the planet, summoning invaders and monsters from alternate realities. Ancient gods slumbering beneath the Earth were woken. And all humans were empowered with Levels and Classes gained by, amongst other things, killing monsters and other humans.

Only a single instruction was provided by the System: “Whoever reaches Level 100 first shall become Earth’s new Overgod.”

So, a worldwide battle of epic proportions erupted... which Basil would rather sit out. Choosing the [Tamer] profession which allows him to speak with his cat, Plato, and other apocalyptic monsters, he'll adopt and train them to fight alongside him and defend his corner of the countryside.

After all, why bother fighting the apocalypse when you can tame it?

Experience this special edition LitRPG box set of Apocalypse Tamer, by Maxime J. Durand, bestselling author of Vainqueur the Dragon and The Perfect Run. Full of equal parts action and laughs, this story is a satirical take on the typical LitRPG Apocalypse stories blended with elements of Pokémon and Monster Rancher.

About the Series: Join Basil as he progresses from Level 1 to 100 all while refusing to play by the rules of the System. Able to recruit monsters to join him with his [Tamer] class, Basil grows a party of unique creatures to keep him company in the end of the world. They'll experience dungeon diving, battles, and building a little slice of forest into a defensible base.

Worth the credit!

This series was well worth the credit I spent on it. It was engaging and each book grabs your attention in different ways such as book 1 character development that made the MC change his lifestyle and philosophy of staying isolated to changing into letting go and letting in now experience and people. Book two was getting out to the world and changing it for the better and book three was confronting his past mistakes to new beginnings and settling old scores. Finally book 4 was made to finish everything and create anew for what was lost and keeps living life. Great read and if you can put up with mess up lines and parts it’s still worth the credit!

Took me several chapters to warm up to this book

Honestly, the accents used were driving me nuts, I was pretty sure I wasn't going to listen to this book for long. It just started out kind of slow for me. The MC was not interested in participating in the event that was forced upon him and did everything in his power to ignore it. In addition he started referencing a few bible verses. Bla Bla Bla. If it wasn't for a recommendation from someone a friend I would have stopped my suffering after the first few chapters. After several chapters I was questioning my friends sanity. lol... Determined to give it a decent shot, I sped up the audio to about 1.5 which was about as fast as I could go with the accents. Surprisingly, the characters started to grow on me by the end of the first book and I was actually looking forward to the next. There were funny parts and some emotional parts, I was surprised how much I was enjoying the series. It turned out to be a great one. I am glad I didn't put it down.

finally a Christian protagonist!

an excellent progression story with unique characters, a likable protagonist, cool fights and nerdy humor. I came for the orthodox protagonist and stayed for the mysterious story!

great story!

the story, world, and characters were awesome! however the audio needs a little tweaking. there are times where they use the wrong character voice for who's talking. also there are quite a few instances where they repeat the same line.

Audio voices were awful.

Worst audio possible. The voices became so annoying, I stopped after the first 10 chapters and removed the story. I couldn’t take it anymore. I intend on reading the story to give it a chance. Not hopeful.

Hard to listen

Interesting premise but the atrocious voice acting was just too much to actually finish the book. Talented mc but the accent choice was a questionable one.
