Good advice, but weird editing

I think this book is great! But, there are notes to the editor that should be edited out.

Very Helpful

As a first-time expecting mom, it helped my panic and fear a lot. Useful.

Definitely recommend

This book has been very useful. I have listened to most of it at this point and have gone back to different parts to reference them again. The sections are well labeled and easy to navigate. I also downloaded what to expect when you're expecting, but I preferred this book and stopped listening to that one.

Great Book, Terrible Editing

The information in this book is fantastic. However, there are some sections throughout the book where the narrator pauses and verbally gives notes to the editor. The editor clearly did not do their job.

Good information but bad editing

Not only does the narrator verbally leave notes to the editor a few time, she is obviously not familiar with medical terminology. She misspeaks multiple times and the pronunciation is very irritating. Someone needs to re-edit some of the information as well. Expecting a first OB appointment to be three hours is rediculous. I’ve NEVER seen any appointment allowing that amount of time. Maybe one hour…

Very educational, comforting, and empowering

I learned so much about pregnancy through this book. It offers information on a wide range of topics and things to expect. It also gives you tips and tricks for those who prefer the more natural, less medicinal side of things (like myself) and those who prefer a more medical route. I really appreciated the non-bias there. There were even things I was unaware of about my own body as a woman that were never taught to me in school or by anyone that made so much sense. As a first time pregnant woman in my 2nd trimester, I am so thankful my husband found this audiobook for us to listen to in preparation for our new baby. Highly recommend!

Much preferred listening rather than reading.

Being pregnant with my first child I have felt an incredible amount of “mom gilt” already. I felt obligated to at least listen to this book since I am a patient at mayo and received a free copy with my first prenatal visit. It was much better than What to Expect When You Are Expecting (would not recommend that to anyone, unless I wanted them to hate themselves). The content of this book was delivered in a somewhat dry manor which I think might have aided in not causing as much “mom stress” but it did make it hard to get through the 20 hours listening time. Overall I feel better for having read/listened to it.

Very informative. Poorly edited

Great information and narrator in this book which is only slightly diminished by sloppy editing

They should remove this, edit it, and repost

Kind of embarrassing for them that whoever they hired to edit clearly did not properly edit this! The speaker left a multitude of notes for the editor that weren’t corrected or removed. Super weird!

No Downloads?

It is hard to fathom that this book has NO relevant images, charts, graphs, or links, no glossary and no citation page. I have 8 hours left in the book and I logged into Audible on my computer specifically to find some of the (omitted!) images. I feel cheated by the publisher. They didn't even include the INSIPID recipes that almost made me quit listening during the first hour! What am I supposed to do, transcribe them?

This isn't a pulp thriller that I bought to keep myself occupied on a beach. This is, or should be, a serious resource that I can turn to for information over the course of an, absolutely critical, time period in my life. I expected The Mayo Clinic to be a reputable source, even in audio. I am sorely disappointed.

Why aren't any downloadables included?
