Publisher's summary

Notice me.

Leonie Krause has obsessions. First, it was with words, then facts, and then the most passionate subject came to light.

With absolute certainty, she knew that she loved Dawson Arzola since she learned how to speak. Three years older didn't make a difference, it could have been 30, and the loyalty that struck between them would have to break the chain of command to abolish.

Always the brightest pupil, her intelligence proves no restrictions. Becoming aware she was unique from early on, her knowledge skyrocketing. Patterns and problems, Leonie always finds a solution.

The first peck on precious lips, his to claim.

Wait for me.

Reaching out to obtain the untouchable.

Remember me.

Lost time, lost memories, worlds out of order, looking to rebalance.

Maroon (Dawson Arzola)

Years have passed since I breathed fresh air. Even longer to allow himself the midnight beauty that owns his soul. Shunned from the outside world, every day, he pays for crimes entrusted to him by his uncle, Issy.

What can he do to set himself free, to be with the one he devotes eternity?

Maroon hasn't made his last mistake. There is no escaping his fate, not even from his alien girl.

Mum's the Word

Another addition to Meng's Mum's the Word series and is Leonie's story. A beautiful and tragic story about a gifted woman who understands so much, sometimes too much and the men in her life who she loves. He father first, and her teen crush/boyfriend who loves her but doesn't feel worthy. A beautiful tale of the roads life takes us and choices made.
Narration was good, a few places of audio duplication and I thought it could have been better with a dual narration.

and even worse still...

I hoped the fifth book will be the saving grace, but still, the characters were unrelatable, the story was messy and not interesting, and in general, this was a bad read for me.
this time the narration was even worse than the previous two stories I've heard - the narrator herself was worse and it felt as if even she doesn't like the story she's narrating.
moreover, there were many editing mistakes, which did not help the overall discontentment.
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
