About this listen

FBI Agent Atlee Pine’s harrowing search for her long-lost sister Mercy reaches a boiling point in this breakneck thriller from number one New York Times best-selling author David Baldacci.

For her entire life, FBI agent Atlee Pine has been searching for her twin sister, Mercy, who was abducted at the age of six and never seen again. Mercy’s disappearance left behind a damaged family that later shattered beyond repair when Atlee’s parents inexplicably abandoned her.

Now, after a perilous investigation that nearly proved fatal, Atlee has finally discovered not only the reason behind her parents’ abandonment and Mercy’s kidnapping, but also the most promising breakthrough yet: proof that Mercy survived her abduction and then escaped her captors many years ago.

Though Atlee is tantalizingly close to her family at last, the final leg of her long road to Mercy will be the most treacherous yet. Mercy left at least one dead body behind before fleeing her captors years before. Atlee has no idea if her sister is still alive, and if so, how she has been surviving all this time. When the truth is finally revealed, Atlee Pine will face the greatest danger yet, and it may well cost her everything.

Great ending to the series

Don't listen to the bad reviews. I thought this was a great way to end the Atlee Pine series. The story line wasn't quite as good as the others books but still just as entertaining.

Entirely TOO good!

I use audio books as bedtime stories. I have long found that reading a hard copy book is too stimulating—I look to see how much is left in a chapter and, despite yawns, will continue reading to that end. Then with the way books chapters often end these days, I feel compelled to continue into the next chapter. And the pattern repeats, leaving me with little time to sleep. With audio books, I can set the sleep timer and often will fall asleep before the story cuts off. And if not, will fall asleep soon after the timer cuts the story off. But that wasn’t the case with Mercy!

With Mercy, I found myself starting to listen even before I headed to bed. And once lying down, found that I repeatedly reset the timer every time the story cut off. Rather than listening for 15-30 minutes, I have been listening for 3-4 hours at a time—and losing sleep. So, as my title says, this book was entirely too good!

Resolution! Finally!

Such a great ending to this series I've been reading for years. Baldacci does a good job tying to storylines together so that each book is a piece of the puzzle.

Read it!

I have been waiting for this book since I finished the last Atlee Pine book. Love this series. I hope he writes more books with Atlee and her sister Mercy. Twins need more adventures we can read about.

great read

Narrators were outstanding! I got a little lost with the mob back story. i also thought Mercy waa a little too unforgiving and self serving.
