About this listen

Eurydice Dimitriou has always been the innocent one, the sheltered one. No longer. She’s finally ready to step out of the long shadow cast by her mothers and sisters. After her ex broke her heart, she’s picking up the pieces in the lower city…with the help of Charon, a man she’s drawn to even as she’s not sure she has enough heart left to give.

Charon Ariti has been Hades’s right-hand man for years. He’s given everything to the lower city, but now he’s ready to take something for himself. Even knowing it might be a mistake, he’s drawn to Eurydice’s hidden strength and her determination to keep moving forward. He’s only too happy to give her a special kind of education…at least until her ex comes calling.

Orpheus Makos will do whatever it takes to make things right. Once the golden boy of the upper city, he’s now lost everything. His art, his fortune, his fame? They’re nothing compared to the love he can’t stop thinking about. He’ll do anything to get her back…even if it means she’s not coming into his arms alone.

But with enemies slipping through Olympus’s faltering barrier into the lower city in increasing numbers, a trio of broken hearts will be the least of these lovers’ worries

Excellent

I love this series and book number 6 did not disappoint! I am glad Persephone and Hades played a part in this story as well. I’m really looking forward to the next one with Ariadne and Dionysus!

Plot development was out of this world!

I love how different plot lines have come together in this book. This is the most exciting book in the series thus far. I also appreciate the character development in Persephone’s sisters. So much has changed. Can’t wait for the next!

Love the world building

I enjoyed listening to little updates on the other sisters. I missed more details on psyche and eros but loved the updates on hades and persephone. Overall the story is getting quite interesting.

This book seemed like a filler

First and foremost, the voice actors, 10/10. They do not disappoint and I have loved listening to them for the previous 5 books.
In terms of this story, it really felt like a filler compared to the other books. I was so excited to read about this book because of my love for Hadestown and the characters of Orpheus and Eurydice, and to know that we get more of Hades and Persephone is always good too. However, as much as a slow burn can get annoying at times, I felt that this one just moved too fast. It was like all of a sudden, new relationship! There wasn't a lot of nuance in the development and I think that Katee Robert so has it in her to give that to us.
All in all, I love this series and will keep reading. This was not a bad book, just not as strong as the others for me.

Toss a Coin to the Ferryman....

Thanks to the author to make the ferryman of Greek mythos as appealing as Henry Cavill in the Witcher.
Orpheus is Dandelion and Eurydice is Yennifer.

This book makes one wish for the afterlife, Just put a drachma under my tongue for the toll. Wouldn't want Charon to turn me away!

For myth geeks like myself, the easter eggs are HUGE!

one of the best romance series around

loved the spice, each of the books in the series are all different but flow together in an over arching interesting story line that isn't just about people doing it. This was a story I wanted sense the 4th book the series and makes me anxious for the next one.

Round of applause for Katee

This was literally everything I needed, and everything I wanted. The plot has thickened so much for the series that I am literally on my heels waiting for dark restraint. Katee, you were so right the groveling was **chefs kiss**
