About this listen

Restaurant owner Tom Fearnes has loved his partner Cass for as long as he can remember, but their work often keeps them apart. When he meets a striking young man named Jake on the vibrant streets of Camden Town, their heady first encounter takes an unexpected turn.

Jake Thompson can hardly believe his luck when he wakes up in Tom's bed. Tom is gorgeous, kind, and...taken. Tom's explanation of his open relationship leaves Jake cold, but Tom is too tempting, and when hard times force Jake to accept Tom's helping hand, he finds himself between two men who've lost their way.

Cass Pearson is a troubled soul. He loves Tom with all he has, but some days it feels like he hasn't much to give. Jake seems like the perfect solution. Cass risks everything to push Jake and Tom together, but Jake resists, wary, until the darkness of Cass's deprived childhood comes to call. Then Jake finds himself the last man standing, guiding square pegs into round holes, and it's time to dig deep and shine a light for the men he's grown to love.

Amazing!

Wonderful, beautiful book!! Couldn't put it down. Truly a story of love and companionship. 5 STARS!

The writing is very compelling as we expect from this author, but the narrator's performance gives the additional push to make a great book, extraordinary.

Three is better than two

Would you listen to Misfits again? Why?

Yes. I could Listen to Craig better over and over. The story is good as well.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Misfits?

When Cam got his phone call near the end

Which scene was your favorite?

All f them with Jake. His Ticks really added to the story.

Any additional comments?

Misfits is a very angsty, poignant story of three men.
Tom and Cam have been in an open relationship for a long time. It works well for them. The are partners in several restaurants, and Tom is working on opening another. He stops for lunch and meets Jake a waiter with Turrets syndrome. He takes a shine to Jake quickly.

Jake is a young man with Turrets and has a hard time keeping a job. Waiting tables is mostly what he can get and that never lasts long. His dream is in graphic design and websites. He meets Tom, but when he finds out about Cam, he isn't sure he wants to be involved. Then he becomes friends with Cam, at first mostly through text and phone calls.

Cam is from a low-income family and has a bad past. He still has the habit of running whenever things get heavy for him. He worries some that Tome will replace him with Jake, the other part does want them all together.

Misfits is a great threesome story. I loved the slow build of the relationship, not the way most threesome hop into bed at once and then it's all sex all the time. Misfits is more about the relationship, needs and how these men fit together so well and not about the sexual relationship.

If you like chefs, businessmen, men with disabilities, Turrets syndrome, angst, and hot threesomes, then you will love this one.

Amazing characters

Would you listen to Misfits again? Why?

yes. I have a great time listening to it. I think the narrator made an amazing job giving voices to those characters, I guess it helped me care more for the story, it felt attractive.

If you’ve listened to books by Garrett Leigh before, how does this one compare?

It was my first book from the author, either readind and listening to

Which scene was your favorite?

Do I have to have one? there were several, mostly when Jake was on scene. Maybe the times he was the shyest, like when he met Cass.

Who was the most memorable character of Misfits and why?

Jake, both while reading and while listening to. He was the most interesting on and the voice given by the narrator suits his personality amazingly, I have such a great time listening to it.

Any additional comments?

Yes, the character were great, not just Jake, he might be the best ot my favorite, but the character development was one of the things I enjoyed more of the book

Unique and Realistic!

Wonderfully written!

I really enjoyed reading and listening to Misfits. Although I'm not a huge fan of threesome stories (I tend to have issues with projected jealousies and such), I very much liked how this one was developed. I liked how it wasn't instant love for all three, and that particular underlying issues added to rather than detracted from the story.

Favorite book by this author

The narrator does a great job with this story. His voices weren't exactly what I was expecting--but I was sold only a minute or so into it. I do recommend listening to the sample, since the opening chapter is mostly just Tom, and you don't get the full feeling for all the narrator can do right off the bat.

I'm absolutely going to try more books by this narrator.

Beautiful story

Beautiful story of three loveable but very different characters who against the odds make it all work. Well written and read perfectly by the narrator - really brought the characters to life.

Great book-odd narration

This book is stunning. If you haven’t read it yet, you’re missing out. But the narration is…an odd choice and pulls me out of the story sometimes. It’s not bad, well, it kind of is, but the story is still solid.

real character development

I appreciate that the author worked on real life issues, rather than the hand wringing done in other books.

Beautiful Trio!

Uplifting! The sensitivity with which the symptoms of TS were treated and accepted by the characters was touching. It is a blessing to be able to see this handled so well. I fell in love with these young men. I laughed and cried with them. Thank You!
