About this listen

A tempestuous acquaintance and disastrous marriage proposal makes it unlikely Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet will ever reconcile. Despairing of their own reunion, they attend with great energy to salvaging that of Darcy’s friend Mr. Bingley and Elizabeth’s sister Jane. People are rarely so easily maneuvered in and out of love, however, they follow a series of misunderstandings, both willful and unwitting, that complicates all four star-crossed lovers’ alliances more than ever before.

A witty and romantic novel that delights in the folly of human nature and also honors Austen’s original Pride and Prejudice and holds appeal for listeners of all genres.

I’ve read the book and listened to the audiobook repeatedly. It features one of the very best voice actors. This book is long, so you get a lot of story for your money, and it’s so well written and crafted. A++++

One of the best JAFF hands down!

Wow. The narrator was perfect. No silly voices that annoy you. The storyline was different as Jane was horrible to Lizzy because of jealousy. It made for a great book. I always wanted a story with a bad Jane and this was great. Not to worry Jane returns to herself after she realizes it’s her fault and not Lizzy’s. Darcy is a strong caring husband with a wicked sense of humor that Elizabeth appreciates.

A great audio book

This was a wonderful book!It kept my attention from start to finish.Mr Darcy is married to Lizzy, which is the crux of everything in the book. Arthur Rowan was the perfect narrator. His voices, even for the ladies, were spot on! Highly recommended.

other reviews said it was witty and sweet and generally an enticing story, and they were 100% right. this is the only book on audible I've bought outright and not with a credit and I do not regret it all.

absolutely fantastic!

hilarious, endearing, and insightful

I have mixed feelings about this book. I really hated Jane in this book. Shocked is more like it. Not at all like her character. Shocked to see Caroline being the sound and wise person even more so. I didn't understand the grudge Lady Catherine held on for so long and why it took until the end to change.
This isn't a book I immediately want to listen to again, there are only a few I do that with, but maybe in a year or so.
I didn't understand why people would think ODC were not happy together. Most in society would know Darcy wouldn't offer for a woman if not....well a woman with low connection and very little dowry.
That had to move the story so all in all very well written.

Very well written

By far my favorite story. I’ve read it and listened to several times. The narration is just perfect. The pace is fantastic throughout and the plot is engaging, even after several readings. This last reading was through audible on a long road trip and even my husband was chuckling and wondering what would happen next. Highly recommend!

One you come back to over and over again

I keep coming back to this variation for the witty dialogue of Darcy and Elizabeth, the farcical humor, and the unique exploration of an egregiously malleable Mr. Bingley who is wildly uncomprehending and decision averse to the point of self destruction; so, when I realized there was an audiobook I couldn't wait to listen! I am happy to say that Arthur Rowan exceeded my expectations. His ability to give each character a distinct voice that perfectly matches their personality is astounding. The book, which is already immensely engaging, became even more so when told with the skill and versatility of Mr. Rowan.

By far one of the best Pride and Prejudice fan fiction books I have read (and I have dozens, nay maybe hundreds of them!)
Arthur Rowan is an excellent narrator, and I wish he had narrated other works of fiction. Don't miss this one, you will enjoy it!

By far one of the best Pride and Prejudice version
