This book is for anyone who wants to be entertained and laugh. It is full of action, comedy and it's an adventure with a little bit of romance and a cheeky little surprise.

Narrator has excellent vocal pressure when changing characters.
The author depicts details without losing needed flow of story.
I recommend this book to listeners over 18 years old due to sexuality, language, and violence.

Fast and good storys, it was nice to have shorter storys that make up a big story so it has a nice stopping point.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this one. The story is about a girl named Kate who becomes modified by a villainous organization, meets a bunch of other modified people, befriends them, and then does battle with the villains who kidnapped her. Kate is sarcastic, strong-willed, and obsessed with getting laid. She's so obsessed with getting properly laid that within a few hours (maybe even one) of getting almost raped she's out prowling the local bar for some anonymous sex. This was one of the things that frustrated me with the story. There were quite a few moments that seemed very unrealistic to me, like wanting to find some random dude to bang right after getting assaulted. At the very least you'd think she'd be a little nervous or upset, but she just sort of rolls with it like people get their panties ripped off at the office every day. And on that note, if you don't like sex in your books you should avoid this one. (Though despite the one almost rape, the other scenes were short, fun, and fit the book perfectly, so don't think it's all bad)

There was a lot to like in this book though. The characters are fun (if a bit one dimensional) and the story itself had a very intriguing style that kept me entertained throughout. I do think that next time I'm just going to read the book though. Jennifer Gilmour did a decent enough job but her inflections were all over the place and even had me second guessing certain characters just because of the tone that Gilmour used to portray them. Maybe some of her other narrated books are better.

This was a well written Sci-fi series that was an absolute pleasure to listen to in the Audible version. The story held my interest from beginning to end, both from an action and a romantic standpoint. There was plenty of erotic content, but this is by no means porn. It's primarily just a lot of fun to listen to.

The narration by Jennifer Gilmour was an absolute joy. I loved the voices she came up with. The protagonist, Kate, comes from New Jersey. To my ear, but perhaps not yours, that means she has no regional accent at all. Her fellow superpower friend Vi sounds like she came originally from Brooklyn, or perhaps the Bronx. Her voice added greatly to my enjoyment of the story. There are characters, male and female, from Britain, Slovakia, Russia and what I think is the American South. It must have have been a challenge to the narrator to keep them all straight, but she absolutely does.

This was just a very fine job on the part of both the author and narrator. I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review, which is what I'm giving. That said, I wouldn't have any hesitation about spending one of my precious Audible credits on this. It's really that good, and a non-stop fun listen. Go for it, I don't think you'll regret it.

This is a 5 volume set and each volume is a quick read and complete story. It is written in the first person so there are a lot of asides and snarky humor. It's light and humorous with a paranormal twist. You can't take the stories too seriously. Note: There is a lot profanity, sexual situations and an attempted rape.

The narrator, Jennifer Gilmour, does a great job with voicing the various characters and has her tongue firmly planted in her cheek.

I knew right away that this book was a marriage made in heaven. The cadence of the written word and the psychology of the main character was expertly delivered by the narrator! There was a bit more sex in this series than I expected but it was a fun and inventive sci-fi and it was incredibly well-performed.

Modified is not without charm and is an interesting superhero adventure. It is kind of reminiscent of an X-men origin story although it was definitely not written for kids. The book centers on a group of supers that form a team, have some fun powers, and battle a villain who is using supers for experiments. The story is exciting, the plot is well paced, and the characters are fun. However, there were defiantly some scenes that seemed forced or slightly awkward. Moreover, sometimes problems enter the plot or are resolved too conveniently for my tastes. However, the book is entertaining and if you are just looking for a fun mindless read this is the book for you.
