Mostly a Great Book

What did you love best about Money, Possessions and Eternity?

This was, by far, the best book on finances for Christians that I have read. There are some parts that I wasn't in agreement with (rewards, tithes, etc...), but overall the emphasis was on how people who have been shown so much grace should be equally giving with their time and possessions.

What was most disappointing about Randy Alcorn’s story?

The beginning has a rather large section devoted with "Rewards" which was hard to follow and seemed to take some theological leaps.

Which character – as performed by Randy Alcorn – was your favorite?

N/A

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

a MUST READ for every christian person

As a theologian and wife a of a Bible college professor I think this book is not a book written by a man, is the word of God explained by a man. Randy reads his own book and makes it even more special since his inflexions and tones make the points more clear and penetrating. It is indeed life changing if you consider the Bible as your highest authority and you must read it with willing heart to do what the God calls you to do. It was a rough read and made me realize so many wonderful truths. This is a MUST READ, please get this book and find out how to get as much treasures in heaven as you can and hear the words "well done faithful servant".

Don't Miss God's Blessing

This book is an exciting, encouraging, biblical exploration of money and possessions. It mixes teaching with real life examples. I listened to the audio version and plan to purchase a print version for future reference. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Thoughtful, Challenging, Needful

You probably won't agree with every one of Alcorn's ideas. If God moves you to the same conviction, great. But beware of simply adopting his convictions out of guilt...I don't think even he would want that. But listen carefully to why he comes to the convictions he does. Your convictions may be different, but what we do with the why is most important. In the end, we want to give a joyful accounting on the last day. This book provides help in striving to get there ourselves as well as leading others, particularly our families, to get there as well.

A dose of clarity

It’s my opinion that this book will offer the knowledge needed to satiate that longing built within each of us called eternity. I was in a debate with my roommate recently, The topic was absolute moral truth. Him an atheist, me a Christian posed the question. Why have we not killed each other off completely yet? I believe God‘s truths are in plain sight it’s up to us to put our self in the proper vantage point.
May the lord direct us each to our proper mountain.
