About this listen
Magic is coming more into the public realm.
The dark families intend to control it, and relentlessly pursue dominance over Earth’s magic users.
But their path is littered with personal vendettas, and an unyielding thirst for revenge consumes Winston Blackwell.
Danger looms as formidable adversaries target Matt and Natalia, hell-bent on their destruction.
Will the duo realize the danger before it’s too late?
Natalia’s struggle with her offensive magic intensifies, leaving her increasingly vulnerable and powerless after each use.
When hope seems lost, a mysterious dark elf enters the scene, bearing the promise of a lifeline.
Can they trust this enigmatic ally, or does the drow have ulterior motives?

Story
Who answers the call when the mundane police dial 911? Matt Bordelon—former Silver Griffin, wizard, and the Big Easy Bounty Hunter. Matt has a good thing going. Deliver justice to magicals? Check. Keep the world safe from threats? Check. Make good money doing it? Cha-ching. Unless his bounty ends up dead when the paperwork specifies alive, that is. Good thing he’s a pro at avoiding that. Then he stumbles across a dark witch embroiled in a vicious spell battle with a dark wizard and feels compelled to aid her.

Story
I knew three things about my life before adoption: I was a baby rescued from a blazing house fire, I was found in the arms of a dead man, and no one ever came to claim me. No one. Not ever. Now, as a Montreal detective, I'm dedicated to hunting truths for a living. Unheard voices. Cold cases. Unsolved mysteries. Unearthing secrets hidden in the shadows is my jam. Until the fae veil falls . . . When the world learns magic is real, everything changes. Montreal begins seething with prana energy, dormant genes activate, and seemingly normal humans experience magical awakenings.

In the past two years, I leveled up as a kick-ass urban druid and became the leader of the Fianna Warriors my ancestor Fionn mac Cumhaill needed me to be. The thing is—four months ago everything changed. The veil between realms came down. With dormant genes waking, the dominant races jockeying for their place in the hierarchy, and the world around us pulsing out of control with power, my position as the Fae Liaison of Toronto has gotten off to a chaotic start.

Hate the cliffhanger!
All in all, this was a really good book, especially if you’ve liked the series up to this point, but leaving the story hanging without any resolution of any of the several story lines is frustrating at best.

Terrific Cliffhanger
I liked this story it filled in some holes of Natalia's background And the cliff hanger wow. I hope they let Matt go all Brownstone even though Natalia is a self recuing princess you have to let Matt have a little fun and not be eye candy

Disappointed
Very disappointed in this book. Loved the first 4 of the series but nothing happened in this book. No new problems, no new answers and a huge cliffhanger. Do not recommend.
