About this listen
This audiobook contains eight fantasy and sci-fi short stories perfect for your morning commute. Each story is self contained and lasts for about 1 hr of listening.
Pale Rider - Two worlds collide in this action short story. Zombie destruction has leveled humanity. Gasoline fuel is no longer an option, but humanity must find a way to survive. In response to trying to restore our way of life, we engineer franken-monsters. Enter a world of dinosaur riders and zombie apocalypse.
Magic Factory - In a factory full of magic, some magic is bound to slip out and cause havoc. Magical industry knowledge is precious and hard to find. Even the most minor of spells require an enormous non-disclosure waiver. Magic factories are known to be high risk because of the stigma of sharing information. Unfortunately for the workers at this factory, that includes information on how to be safe.
Summer Sword - An otherworldly friendship is forged under stress and fear. Wyatt, a recently unemployed camper, is looking for an escape from responsibilities. Thunder Born is a wind esper looking to escape from those who want to murder him. Together they start something surpassing both of them.
Floating Ink - The world was cookie cutter ready for an alien invasion. Xenophen leveraged humanity’s growing into a knowledge economy. To control us, they simply needed to offer a better education.
Vampire Caving - Join a risk taking vampire as he explores why vampires exist.
Swamp Monster Voodoo - A voodoo swamp creature battles for his way of life. An explorer battles for the swamp creature's treasure.
Frankenstein IT Support - Frankenstein's monster is retrained to provide IT support. After all, if you can't find good help, why not build it?
Moonlight Motor - A fair fight doesn’t start with hunger. That will to live drives a desperate, hungry man to find solace on a train. The only problem is that blending in with the passengers may be worse than getting caught.

Story
Two worlds collide in this action novelette. Zombies have destroyed civilization. Gasoline fuel is no longer an option, but humanity must find a way to survive. In response to trying to restore our way of life, we engineer franken-monsters. Because of their small brains and massive sizes, these beasts make quick work of farming and clearing land. These large creatures are immune to the zombie virus and perform excellently in loud conditions.

Story
Oliver Twist is one of the most well-known stories ever told, about a young orphan who has to survive the mean streets of London before ultimately being rescued by a kindly benefactor.
But it is his friend, the Artful Dodger, who has the far more intriguing tale, filled with more adventure and excitement than anything boring Oliver could possibly get up to. Throw in some vampires and a plot to overthrow the British monarchy, and what you have is the thrilling account that Charles Dickens was too scared to share with the world.

Story
In this sweeping, threaded narrative of the global phenomenon known as the Vampire Wars, mankind is unwittingly infected by a millennia-old bacteria unknowingly exhumed by a scientific expedition in Antarctica. Now, in some rare cases, a person’s so-called junk DNA becomes activated. Depending on their racial and ethnic heritage, they begin to manifest one of the many diverse forms of the "others" that are the true basis for the legends of supernatural creatures. These aren’t your usual vampires and werewolves - it goes much deeper than that.

Story
If the North Had Won the Civil War is two alternate history novels in one. The modern story follows Stonewall Jackson "Jack" Sawyer, a history professor in the modern-day Confederate States of America, and his alternate history "If the North Had Won the Civil War" in a nation where publication of his book is a criminal offense. The story gives the listener a look at a nightmarish modern-day Confederacy where any person with a drop of black blood in his veins is denied basic human rights and confined to a "Preserve".

Great stories
There are some really good stories here I really enjoyed them all. The cunningness of the swamp monster. His take on the Vampires and how they evolved gave me something to ponder. It intrigued me enough to buy the next Vampire books to continue with the story. I enjoyed all of the stories but the story that I enjoyed the most was Frankenstein the IT support guy. Even the music between takes added to the fun. If you listen to nothing else in this book the Frankenstein IT Support is worth the getting this audiobook.

Mixed Reviews
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. There were several stories in this book. There were several stories that I would give 5 stars and some would get 3 stars. The narration was pretty good on all of the stories but some of them were disjointed. Some were good short stories with a great beginning, middle, and ending. I liked all of them but I enjoyed several. You know up front that they will be a suspend your reality and join the stories reality but at least two of them were suspend the reality that you just suspended and do another level of suspension.

Morning Motivation Series
This is an interesting mix of stories that will entertain listeners with the different worlds and characters in them. Each story gives you a new world to explore. Some I enjoyed more than others but as a whole this collection was a nice collection. Sci-Fi and fantasy are the main genre in these stories, and some gave you things to think about. Having the different narrators throughout this collection made for an engaging read. All narrators did a good job of keeping the narrative flowing and kept the listener engaged.

Anytime Motivation
Out of the eight stories I liked about 6 of them, the other two I could do without, I am fairly new to this author and I have read 3 or 4 of his books so far, and I really liked his Sea Fleas and the Janus books, so give Mr. Livingood a look, I think you will be pleasantly surprised

Interesting, hour long stories
I saw a lot of other reviews mention "horror" and I really didn't get that from these stories. The stories are definitely a little bit dark but not horrific in any manner. Some of the stories were better than other (personally didn't like the blue brains story) but the different narrators all handled the stories well. I was given a code in exchange for my review.

A great collection of shorts to entertain
I ran into some
New stories and some old familiar friends as well. This collection contains some of my favorite shorts like vampire caving, Frankenstein IT, and many more. There were also some new ones that I haven’t come across before. What you will also find engaging is the large variety of narrators that are here. It makes it like listening to a series of audio dramas rather than a set of shorts. Really great selection in both tales and tellers. Fantasy and Sci-Fi short stories
An interesting set of eight short stories. Each story was about an hour long and had a different narrator. While some of the stories interested me more than others, each one kept my interest. All in all, an enjoyable listen.

Good Variety of Short Stories
A good variety of short stories of different genre. The stories are very interesting with some good and others too slow. The narration of the books was very well done. The author does bags a good imagination.
This is a review of the audio book version of this book that I received from the author.
