About this listen

All I want is one night.

One night away from the falling down brownstone filled with my three best friends, a broody billionaire, and our seven children. Oh, and you can’t forget those adorable raccoons.

But the universe apparently has other ideas because I get drunk and sleep with the baseball player.
Now two little lines turn my escape into a completely new adventure. But we’re just going to co-parent not get into anything serious.

No matter how many times I tell Cortney Miller, who is now sharing my bed and watching my every move, that we’re not meant to be, he won’t let go.

Is it possible he could be more than just the mother maker?

Authors Note: Mother Maker is book two of the Momcoms Series and features an accidental pregnancy romance between a professional baseball player and a fun carefree single mom. Guaranteed to have some laughs with this one bed trope meddling family romcom.

Mother Maker is book two in the MOMCOM series. These books leave me smiling, laughing, and in such a good mood. These books are the ultimate found family. The dynamics of 7 kids and 5 adults living in close proximity together in a brownstone that is falling apart has chaos and hilarity written all over it. The banter between all the adults had me laughing out loud.

Book 1 introduces us to the four moms and their kids and how and why they end up living together in a brownstone that is falling apart. I love the found family troupe and this is the ultimate found family. In Book 1 Liv marries Beckett and he is introduced into the fold and joins the family dynamics.

Book 2 is about Dylan, her son Liam, and Cortney. Cortney, a professional baseball player and Dylan spend a fun filled night together and Dylan becomes pregnant. Cortney moves in so he can be there for Dylan and support her in her pregnancy. Liam, Dylan’s teenage son is not happy about Cortney being around and makes things difficult for him. Cortney is so swoon worthy because from day one he is focused on Dylan, the new baby and winning over Liam.

I really liked Dylan as the FMC. She was positive, funny, and a great mom!

I highly recommend this series. I was going to do a mix of audio and ebook, but the audio was so good, I purchased the whole series to listen to. This audiobook is done in duet narration by Maxine Mitchell and Teddy Hamilton. Narration was 5/5!

This audiobook is definitely worth the credit. The performance is pure perfection and the story provides 8 1/2 hours of fun. You'll find yourself laughing, swooning and loving the fact that you have a front row seat to watch their romance unfold. I highly recommend reading Mother Faker first to fully appreciate the MomCom series. Happy Listening!

First, I didn’t know that I’d fall so hard for Teddy Hamilton outside of his voice acting for Zade… but I was wrong. Hearing him bring to life a male lead who struggles with anxiety and OCD in such a relatable way might have unearthed Zaddy as the king… The kind, light spirit of the female lead was heart warming and lovely and restored my faith in humanity. These two voice actors brought the brilliant words to life in a relatable way and kept me entranced in this series.

Exemplary Performances of a Lovely Story

The first book of the “Momcoms” series was absolutely brilliant, and I figured it would definitely be a hard act to follow, especially in a multi-author series, but Jenni Bara does not disappoint and this second book is just as amazing as the first, “Mother Faker”. I recommend starting with the first book, not only does it lay down the foundation for the series, get to know the moms, their children, Beckett and their living arrangement. “Mother Maker” is Dylan and Cortney’s story and like the first book I loved everything about it, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. I am also loving the cohesiveness of the overall arc regarding the house and the dynamic of everyone who lives there. Dylan is a single mom of the eldest kid in the house, Liam, a fifteen-year-old who is very protective of his mom. She is free spirited and on the quirky side, ran daycare centers and is looking to expand and open up more locations, in the meantime she helps take care of the kids in the house that they are all living in, the dilapidated brownstone that Delia inherited. There is never a dull moment in that house, four moms, seven kids and Beckett, plus who knows how many other critters and creatures live there, which adds to all the fun. Cortney Miller, a professional baseball player, did not know why his team traded him mid-season, but he is the new catcher for the Boston Rev’s, a team Beckett and his family own. Cortney has his own quirks and superstitions, and when he sees that his lucky socks are missing he thinks he knows who took them, the boy with the red hair, who lives in the same house as Beckett, so he goes there hoping to retrieve them. When he gets to the house, a brownstone in disrepair, he thinks he is getting punked, and he is certainly going to get something straight out of a snerf gun if he is not careful. It turns out he was not punked, he just stepped into an alternate universe, the momcoms universe, and what an experience it was, from the extravagant fees for ducking cursing to expectant raccoons. The best of his visit was the gorgeous ginger he met, Dylan, and the steamy night they spend together. He does not do relationships during baseball season, but he could not get her out of his mind and when he got back in town, he paid her another visit. And when he learns of her unexpected pregnancy, he steps up to the plate and wants to be by her side. So the brownstone gains another resident, but he has to gain the acceptance and approval of the other moms and kids, with his toughest challenge being Liam. I adored Cortney, he is charming and caring, and most importantly perfect for Dylan and Liam, too. This is a wonderful story, one that will put a smile on your face and keep it there the entire time and for some time after. I loved all the drama, the humor and brilliant dialogue, the twists, the heartfelt emotions and the fabulous romance. Jenni Barra, thank you for this wonderful story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Teddy Hamilton joins Maxine Mitchell for this second book of the series. Mitchell’s outstanding performance of bringing the characters to life continues and Teddy Hamilton falls right into his roles like the natural talent he is and has, and he, too, delivers an outstanding performance. He aced it as Cortney, grasping all sides of his personality, from his uptightness to his caring and loving side. Mitchell’s Dylan is perfection, from her free spirited quirkiness to her strengths and insecurities. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’s emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Their comedic timing is amazing too. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
