About this listen

Lara Chandler has come home to the Rocking B Ranch - though not for Carson Blackridge. Four years ago he cruelly rejected her, and her love turned to hate. But the chance to research the history of the ranch on a business footing is one she just can't pass up. Carson is waiting, though, and he is determined to show her that he's long regretted the way he treated her. Can she put her faith in him, or would she be making a terrible mistake?

This book. took place on a Montana horse ranch but there was very little about the ranch, it was mostly about FEELINGS!!!!!! I was looking forward to a developed story about a horse ranch. I was disappointed.

What Ranch????

As much as I loved this book back in the day, I always felt Carson was a huge a$$hole & that Lara forgave him too easily. This time when I listened, I had more sympathy for him than I had before. I think the performance helped me see him differently. So A++ on an old favorite!

I agree with the reviewer who stated she thought Carson was an a$$hole the 1st time she read it and I certainly would agree with that opinion. I don't think I would ever change my mind no matter how many times I read it but I will admit to not finishing the book even once. I didnt WANT to see them get together and couldnt invest in the characters any further. I couldnt see any reason that would make Carson's cruel treatment of Lara forgivable. I was so disgusted with the depiction of Lara as a weak woman giving this jerk the time of day again. Furthermore, it is sad that she was unable to move on after 4 years after his rejection to a much more deserving, much better man. This was my first book by this author; I don't know if I could stomach another if they are all like this.

Cruel man/damaged & weak woman. No thanks!
