This can be a standalone but it is in the series by Meredith Potts. I love the books that are lighthearted, clean and enjoyable. Her chracters are believable, the narration keeps your interest till the end. A restauant critic is killed and sh has to solve the case. Hope works withher brother and they have a close relationship. You will never know ti the end who did the murder. You will enjoythis in Audible or just reading it. I love both her Audible or kindle books. SL Crawley does an smazing job with the narration.

I have enjoyed these books but this one seemed to end very abruptly. Other than that it was cute , funny, and kept me thinking.

Hope is in the cop car with her brother Joe on a high speed chase. She's trying to figure out how to not panic and how the heck did she wind up in this situation. Flashback to days before...Hope and her boyfriend Daniel were at a movie then went out to have a bite to eat. She is a little taken aback when at their restaurant that the table they asked for and the drinks there requested were totally opposite from they had ordered. When Daniel asks what is going on That's when there server tells them that the restaurant critic was just there and everyone is freaked because he told them he was going to leave a scathing report. Then days later the critic turns up dead. Now it's up Hope and her brother Joe to find the killer in a town with a lot of people who holds a grudge against the murder victim.
S. L. Crawley is a fantastic narrator who brings each character to life. Her voice manages male, female and italian extremely well!

This is a cute cozy mystery. It moves along at a fast-pace and made my drive today pass quickly. This isn’t my usual genre, but it might be from now on. I liked the protagonist and a fast-paced mystery that leaves no loose ends is great! Joe and Hope are a great team.

This books is fairly short, and it’s perfect for a commute or chore day around the house.

Would definitely read a Meredith Potts book again.

This time Hadley has to solve the murder of a restaurant critic. He had plenty of enemies. /She and Joe worked to find the killer. With all the enemies the victim had will they find the killer? I love this series. It keeps me entertained through out the book. The narrator does a fantastic job. I look forward to the next book.

It's been awhile since I've listened to a Hope Hadley mystery! Murder of a Restaurant Critic: Hope Hadley Cozy Mystery Series, Book 7 by Meredith Potts, narrated by S. L. Crawley is a fun listen, and at just over an hour and a half, it can easily be completed in one sitting. I'll let you read the plot description on your own, but just know that the storyline is fast-moving, and it's a complete mystery from start to finish...no cliffhangers. Yay! Cozy mysteries are my favorite books to listen to, but sometimes I feel like I get stuck in a rut listening to the same story over and over again, just different characters. This Hope Hadley mystery was a nice change of pace, and I really enjoyed it.

The narration by S. L. Crawley was good throughout, but in some places, it was outstanding. The voices and inflection in the second half of the book were awesome - bring on some more! Can't wait to listen to the next in series!

Murder of a Restaurant Critic: Hope Hadley Cozy Mystery Series, Book 7 by Meredith Potts, narrated by S. L. Crawley is engaging, fun, and perfect for when the kids go down for their afternoon naps. Give it a try - you deserve some "me time!" Happy listening!
