About this listen

Boy (Tim Heidecker) is a dog who is tired of being held back by humans. When he wakes one morning to find his owner dead, he assumes there’s no one left to stop him from achieving his goal of being a wild and majestic wolf. Unfortunately, he’s about to meet Rebecca (Patti Harrison), a lifelong slacker who is out to prove to her roommates (Poppy Liu and Danny Pudi) that she’s not a total loser by getting a job as a dog walker for a start-up called Bow-Now. Her plan to become an overnight success gets off to a rough start when she arrives at the home of her first client to find a rowdy golden retriever and a dead body on the ground.

Things go from bad to weird when Christof (Ravi Patel), the ex-child-celebrity founder of Bow-Now, activates a chip in Boy’s neck that gives him the ability to talk. Now, Rebecca is under pressure from the Bow-Now executive board (Amy Sedaris and Baron Vaughn) to deliver this ornery talking dog to the company headquarters without anyone finding out about his special ability. While Boy would rather focus on getting as far from humans as possible to achieve his wolf dream.

Bad driving, betrayals, and a whole lot of butt sniffing ensue as Boy and Rebecca race across the state in pursuit of what they want. Or, at least, what they think they want.

Funny story, if a bit sweary.

Got this on a whim because it was short, and it has a fabulous cast.

There are some laugh out loud moments, for me at least. Read into that what you will.

R-rated levels of swear words, so don't listen with kids - unless they're the surly, anti-authority type and you don't mind reinforcing that.

Better production than lots of other audio plays. It has just enough to get the point across without being obnoxious about it.

Funny and sarcastic

Enjoyed the sarcasm. The dogs viewpoint. Although I imagine a dog's view would be even more scatological.. Also at a couple of points in the broadcast it was hard to hear because of overlaying dialog.

Fun! Lots of it!

When I saw TEAM COCO had a hand in this I jumped in the community pool of happiness and questionable water quality. Was not dissapointed. A fun story, wonderfully immersive, with some pretty good jokes!

If you don't know what Team Coco is, Google it.

Basically a Movie with some toilet humor

My Guy Died by Dan Neilan
1h 15m narrated by Patti Harrison, Tim Heidecker, Ravi Patel, Amy Sedaris, Baron Vaughn, Danny Pudi, Poppy Lui, full cast

Genre: Dark Humor

Featuring: Dog MC, Dog Walk, Golden Retriever, Technology, Profanity

Rating as a movie: R for adult content

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½

My thoughts: I was expecting this to be a dud 10 minutes in but it improved greatly later on. Would make a cute movie. It's pretty much an audio show.

Recommend to others?: If you want something quick and funny, it works.

Doggone Great Story

Humorous well written story from a man’s best friend point of view. It turns out that man’s best friend may not be in the way we all think
of them 🤔🤗

13 minutes in and I was done.

Perhaps I'm getting old but I just can't handle what sounds like way too much going on at once and the loud, almost yelling, dialogue. I do believe I may have enjoyed the short performance and story line had it been toned down. Fortunately, it was a free try.

I love the dark humor

I love the dark sense of humor of this, but I also love that it is not too long, but also has a very clear storyline. I was just confused why it took her so long to call the cops lol.
