About this listen

As far as Dr. Haleigh Rae Mitchner is concerned, Cooper Ridgeway is more suited to a superhero cape than mechanic's overalls. It's just like Ardent Springs's most upstanding resident to rescue a pregnant, homeless teenager and bring her to Haleigh's delivery room. When they team up to help the new mother and baby, Haleigh is determined not to cross the line with Cooper. Not only is he her best friend's brother, he's a guy who deserves more than Haleigh's checkered past could ever offer.

At first glance, Haleigh is no longer the girl Cooper pined for in school. The sleek, professional OB-GYN seems more out of reach than ever for this small-town mechanic. But the more time he spends with the complicated woman, the more he wants her. Who better than Cooper to prove to her that nothing is beyond fixing? Especially in Ardent Springs, a town that's tailor-made for second chances.

love

Another great story in this series.
Cooper had always love his sister's best friend, Haleigh, who has returned to Ardent Spring as the doctor. Cooper who is the area mechanic and owns his own business & restores car is not what her mother had planned for her life.
It was a long journey & Cooper endured a lot for the love of his life

The narrators are perfect together as they bring the story to life.

Engaging story - great narration

This is the third book in the Ardent Springs series I've listened to and I have enjoyed them all so far. It's great to return to the quaint small town setting and to catch up with the characters from the previous books, though this would work perfectly as a standalone as well. There's drama, humor, and love. The narration is brilliant. The narrator performs male and female voices in a believable manner making it easy to distinguish between the different characters.

My One and Only

A wonderful love story filled with challenges, unrequited love and true compassion for another person. I loved the character of Cooper, it the character of Haley had its challenges. Guess book smart doesn’t always relate to common scenes? Wonderful story and well read by the narrator.

Doctor Needs Backbone

While the 3rd book in this moderately entertaining had potential, OB-GYN Haleigh needed spinal surgery to insert a backbone.

For a 31 year old professional woman, Haleigh's incredible lack of confidence and self-respect was annoying and depressing. I find it difficult to care about a main character who doesn't care about herself.

Haleigh supported her lazy mother who refused to hold a job, while the ingrate insulted Haleigh at every opportunity. Likewise, Haleigh allowed her so-called best friend Abby to tell her that she was not good enough to date Abby's brother Cooper.

Cooper was an engaging character, a truly caring man who loved and admired women, in addition to being cute and sexy. Finally, a strong male hero who doesn't want to dominate and degrade a woman to feel more manly.

If Haleigh had been a less of a doormat, the storyline would have been more enjoyable but it was still interesting, sometimes humorous.
