About this listen

Stone Barrington faces down a deadly foe in the latest thrilling adventure in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Following a string of adventures, Stone Barrington is enjoying some downtime in New York City when a chance encounter introduces him to a charming new companion. Too bad she also comes with the baggage of a persistent ex-boyfriend intent on retribution.

As Stone skillfully dodges each disturbance, it becomes clear that there's an even more treacherous game being played behind the scenes. When long-standing grudges resurface, Stone is brought back into the orbit of some familiar enemies. He must use all of his tricks—as well as those of a few old friends—to evade trouble before it's too late. But this time, danger just might catch up with him.

Another fun ride!

Is the plot the least bit realistic? Nope. And do I care? Nope. Stone Barrington and his friends are becoming favorites of mine... good fun, expertly narrated. Pure entertainment and I'll be back for more.

Same ol, Same ol.

Same story, different title.
Stone is pretty bossy and self-righteous.

Mistake to put him in bed with Carly. it made no sense.

I always wanted a story about Dino and his early life.

So tired of the use o the word “fucking”

Ok guys, let’s face it Stone is to old to be “sleeping” with a women younger than Peter! I am so tired of the use of”fucking”. The earlier books used “screwing “ is a less harsh term (and in my opinion a more lady like term).

I think it’s time for Stone to once again settle down. The books could become awesome. Think about he and Holly marry and have adventures with Deno, Viv, Lance, the sharp shooter, Bill Eggars, Herb, the new mine trust working for the CIA (who becomes Lance’s lover)

Near Miss was like all others, very good

Too bad Stuart Woods passed away as I have enjoyed all of books and I know I will enjoy his last book that will be released next year.

Entertaining story

Of course this book was somewhat different from the usual Barrington novels. It was entertaining and the narration was very good.

Narrator Ruined It

The narrator makes every character sound elderly and feeble thereby draining the energy from the storyline. I could not get through it making it only to chapter 22.
