About this listen

Vincent Pike always had an aversion to sunlight, one that required him to take pills so he could live a normal life in New York City. But when a date goes horribly wrong, he soon discovers that this sickness is because of his vampire heritage.

In a matter of hours, Vince finds himself befriended by a woman who calls herself a Nightweaver, a special kind of vampire with lethal powers. This woman claims that Vince is not only a vampire, but a powerful one known as a Blood Lord.

With the powers of a Blood Lord, Vince can form his own coterie of supernaturals. He can make them more powerful through a tantalizing vampiric ritual, but he can also benefit by acquiring some of their abilities.

But the arrival of a fabled Blood Lord to NYC won’t go unnoticed. Powerful groups like the Helsing Agency have their eye on Vincent, and if there’s one thing they don’t want, it’s to share power over the city, let alone the world.

Fun story light, moves fast, entertaining you will not be disappointed with the story. Will look at second installment

Fun

The premise of the story sounds good, but the story itself needs work. It has plenty of plot holes, lapses of intelligence for plot purposes, and a cocky mc the should have died a dozen times but by relying on mc magic wins the day.

Not great

This started off ok but in the end it’s like most of Dante’s work. Good idea shit execution. Wayne is also pretty shittastic with his monotone mc voice, he just sounds like even he doesn’t want to read this book. Raya was great though I’d rather her read this trash alone.

Another weak one

The male narrator sounds like he would rather be anywhere else in the world, got the book for free and honestly upset I wasted 2 hours trying to get into it. Hard pass

Female narrator is the only good part.

The first half hour of the book started out well, but after MC awakens or fully converts to a vampire, the writing takes a nose dive. The writing is pretty bad when it comes to the intimate scenes. The dialogue for parts were cringy and seemed like it was written by a teenager.

I felt like the male narrator wasn’t expressing the right tones given the situation, and a lot of the time almost seemed like there was no emotion. Female narrator was one of the only things keeping me listening due to her distinct voices and performance

Writing was cringy, male narrator not great either

I love fantasy/paranormal romance but this was nottttt it. Had to return after only maybe 1/4 of the way through. The male authors narration was the only good part. Also, I didn’t realize there would me FF parts and it’s just not for me. I’d rather have MM, MF, or MFM/MMF

Just, awful

MC voice actor needs to stop being monotonous with his voice and show genuine inflection in his voice and sound like he's reacting to things. Other voice actors were subpar like the voice of Sarah. The story had some interesting bits, but the system was tedious and honestly made vampires seem pathetic. Also, many things develop too quickly and others too slowly. It simply couldn't decide how to pace the story. The climax was extremely anticlimactic as well. Has potential, but the first book/audible just made it so I will probably not move on to the 2nd book unless I get bored and haven't found a good series to listen to or I finish several more and just happen to continue a year or more later.

potential is there

Raya did a amazing job enjoyed listening to her but Wayne 1st book of his I’ve listened to and last book I’ll listen to by him highly annoying voice
To bad too I enjoy Dante king’s books but not with Wayne

Poor performance

The author needs help writing and Wayne needs to learn how to actually be a voice actor.

Please Help

I got about 45min into the story and had to stop; the 2 performers were absolutely horrible, mainly the male narrator, the female narrator was better but not by much. I will be avoiding books where this guy is the narrator. poor narrators ruin books.

terrible narration
