Exciting

A great techno thriller with nonstop action, two terrorists plotting two different attacks. Body snatching and implanting deceased peoples memories that keep on growing. A pandemic of epic proportions. Wonderful and exciting story. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

Fast Paced Thriller Relevant to Current Events

Holy cow! Please keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times. Get ready for a super fast pace thriller. The first two books were warm ups. Once the somewhat brief introduction to bring you up to speed begins, this book really takes off! This is the third book in the Sam Sunburn series. While it definitely helps to have read the first two books, there is enough of a recap for newcomers. Sam and Frank learn that an old nemesis has returned with a nefarious scheme. There is also another threat, so our heroes must fight on two fronts. Poor Sam also has to deal with martial troubles as well. I frankly wanted to shake some sense into Monica, I thought she was quite irrational at times. This story grabs you and doesn't let up. The tech is explained well and in an accessible way. The bodyjacking and pathogen scenarios are quite frightening. The author notes that nearly everything in the book is real with very little fiction. Links are provided at the end for the reader to check on their own. The audio book version is once again handled by the wonderful Daniel Greenberg. This story manages to remain topical of current events, yet still be realistically frightening. This would make a fantastic television show. A thrill a minute ride that is hard to put down!

INTENSE! Couldn't waiI was t to see how it ended.

I was so excited to find out that this third book in the series had been actually written.. I really love the premise of the stories that happened in the first two books and really wanted to find out how it would continue.
Charles Levin did not disappoint and I would say that the story keeps getting better and better.. Finding out that most of the technical knowledge and concepts used in the book are based on actual real life made the books even more appealing..
I love the narrator and hope that he does the fourth book that I hear is in the works.
Fantastic work by this author..

The 'what if' thoughts on this are...staggering!

A great ride! I was hooked from the beginning and it was hard to put down. I tend to 'put the book down' and think about what is going on - or just happened - to analyze my feelings about it and just think 'what if?'. Or, in this case, pause. With this one, the implications are quite frankly disturbing and staggering. I had to keep listening; I had to know more!

The only 'negative' I really had was regarding the narration. It was often difficult to keep the characters straight, and I found myself rewinding often to clarify who was in the scene.

It Feels Frighteningly Real

This third book in the Sam Sunburn series blew me away, it felt so frighteningly real and had me totally hooked from beginning to end. It's a fast pace thriller from beginning to end so be prepared to put everything else aside while you listen to this one. In my opinion, you will get more from this book if you have read or listened to the preceding books, but if you're diving in here the author does give you enough information so you can listen and become enthralled.

Sam and Frank learn that The Leopard has returned using Frank's body transferring technology and has a nefarious scheme to exact his revenge, will they be able to stop him? There is also another threat from the Leopard's sister, an equally brilliant and determined terrorist, who has enlisted the help of a group of white-nationalists to carry out her plan to spread a killer virus which makes COVID 19 look like the common cold. So Sam, Frank, Rich and the rest of his friends from DHS and other law-enforcement agencies need to discover who/where the Leopard is, then stop him and his army of body-jacked soldiers from taking over the country and then the western world. While at the same time trying to stop his bodyjacked army as well as tracking down his sister and trying to stop the virus from indiscriminately killing millions. If that's not enough Sam also has to deal with martial troubles as Monica informs him enough is enough and she's leaving him, I have to say her attitude was quite irrational and annoying most of the time.

I'm not into tech, but the tech in this story is explained well and in a way, I found it easy to follow. The bodyjacking and pathogen scenarios feel frighteningly real. At the start of the story the author informs us that nearly all technology in the book is real with very little fiction, what's more, he provided links at the end for the reader to check on their own.

The narration is again performed by Daniel Greenberg who has done a wonderful job on all three books in this series. The story remains topical of current events and has caused me to wonder, what if?

Exciting from start to finish

This is an exciting mad dash in a technological thriller. Body snatching for embedding an electronic personality, a pandemic, and technological race. Technology was used to create the problems, but it's being used as well as to take down the mad-men. It was exciting and well written. So much going on at the same time, that the author must have gone nuts to keep it all straight.

I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator did a great job with this very well executed story. There is violence and language so I recommend this book for a mature reader.

Cutting Edge Thriller

The third book in the series is the most convoluted thrill ride yet. Not only must Sam and his friends combat an old enemy, they also have to foil the plans of another terrorist, who has teamed up with white nationalists. There is a brief recap and explanation of what is going on, so this novel can be read as a stand alone; however, having experience with the other two books in the series adds to the appreciation of the characters. I recommend this book with a caveat that some of the language is for more mature readers. Daniel Greenberg continues doing a great job as the narrator. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

Hard Boiled Science Fiction

Fascinating story, and very timely. Very relatable characters, interesting situation. I am not usually drawn to the tougher-talking or inherently violent characters, but this book, and even the harder characters, was quite compelling.

What a ride!

This book is both chilling and thrilling! The terrorist aspects combined with the advanced technology kept me on the edge of my seat. My heart was definitely going a mile a minute.

Charles Levin knows how to capture your attention and keep you on your toes. This was a fantastic story and great addition to the Sam Sunborn series.

Daniel Greenberg’s performance was great. There were a couple of minor blips in the audio, but nothing that really took away from the experience.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Still going strong

Sam and The Leopard are 'alive' again, in a development that, as one of the characters says, moves this from science-fiction to dystopian future. Although I'm nothing if I'm not old school, so I'd call it CyberPunk :P

Dual threats, non-stop action and old and new characters running against time made this story impossible to put down even for a second.

Original, challenging, exciting and pushing the limits of both reality and ethics, this third instalment of the series doesn't disappoint.

Daniel Greenberg does a great job with the narration.
