About this listen

Ethan,

About last night.... I could blame the bourbon. I could say I let things get out of hand, that I should have never called you, but I'm done lying to myself - to you. I know what you're going to say. You're not very good at keeping your opinions to yourself, but this can't happen. It's inappropriate, at best. I'm your boss. Not to mention, you're clearly still hung up on him. I'm not a consolation prize.

Anders~

Anders,

You didn't think it was inappropriate when you had your tongue down my throat, but I digress. As for your accusation, I'm not the only one stuck in the past, but at least I'm not running from it. I can't believe I'm about to say this.... Maybe you're right. You shouldn't have called me. Especially if you never intended to own it. Own that you wanted it to happen. Admit that you wanted me.

Not so sincerely, Yours

I loooove Anders and Ethan story! Just beautiful

The books in this series seriously are the best! They are the perfect light fun and romantic stories, very low angst with amazing characters. I read the books a while ago but I NEED all the audiobooks now! Please read!!! Great narration!

Great Story!!! Fantastic Narrator's!!!

It is my sincere wish that more m/m authors would utilize narrator's like A.M Johnson has. Kirt Graves and Aaron Sherlock were perfect. You can't go wrong with either one of these two. There are so many books out there that I would purchase through Audible but don't because of the narration.
The super seven in my book: JF Harding,Teddy Hamilton, Kirt Graves, Aaron Sherlock, Christian Fox, Troy Duran, and Jacob Morgan. Use any of these gentleman for your LGBTQIA+ and I'll purchase whatever you write!
That being said after listening to Love Always Wild, I purchased the trilogy on kindle because I didn't want to wait. I was not disappointed....at all. The story is fresh, uplifting and feels real to me. The characters are believable, lovable and the story moves and flows. There is no filler, no angst due to miscommunication or one thinking they know what's best for the other, WHICH I CANNOT STAND. Truly a good read and great narration. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Adding Aaron was icing on a perfect cake.

A WONDERFUL Story

The narrators are incredible! However, the talented gentleman reading for Anders had a tendency to whisper certain parts that made it exceptionally difficult to hear key intimate moments between the characters. Besides that, the story and talent is wonderful and I deeply value and respect the narrators and their artistry.

Word of the day

"Fantastic." I loved this book just as much as the 1st. Ethan and Anders are so great together. Their personalities and banter were spot, and the slow burn heat between them was delicious 🥵 ❤️‍🔥💞
The best narrators in this series... can't wait to read the next

Perfection

I love this series and I always think the book I’m currently listening to is my favorite but there is just something so perfect about Anders and Ethan that they truly belong at the top of the list.

Truly Pleasing

Excellent prose.

Enough conflict.

Enough truths.

Enough love.

They are enough.

(The epilogue wasn’t even needed in my opinion, but showed their possible future with hope, evenhandedly.)

2nd book is a hit!!

Ethan and Anders start off like oil and water but given enough time Ethan becomes harder and harder for Anders to ignore! Ethan just gets under his skin….and they have to work together!! I can’t wait for more from this series.

You are worthy!

This one hits really close to home with its talk of worthiness of love and how we cut ourselves off the experience because of our fears of being hurt is overwhelming at times. I adore this book so much. Both narrators did FANTASTIC Jobs!!

Bothersome style choices continue from book 1

I am on the fence with this series. I know a lot of MM romance is written for a female audience, and this series makes no attempt to hide that. This series also doesn't seem to mind that stylistically it is, so far, the same book. The first book drove me crazy with all the emails back and forth - hearing their email addresses and time stamps read for each of the dozens of messages sent to each other. I had hoped that would be in the past with the story focusing on Anders and Ethan. Bad assumption. It was comparable to the first book, if not worse. There is one chapter where it is nothing but emails. Knowing their ages, this would never happen. This would all be texts, or an application like WhatsApp. They would not relentlessly email.

The narration took a dip with the change from Tim Paige to Aaron Shedlock. Sherlock's voicing of Ethan was a bit thick, with a lot of honey and twang. In Shedlock's portions, Ethan sounded more of a player, than a hick kid who likes to sass. The sound was so off different than what he did for Anders, and when compared to Graves, Sherlock's Ethan sounded like a completely extra character. That said, I generally enjoy Shedlock's work, and I am a huge fan of Graves.

This book still has considerable connection to the first with all the characters, excluding the former construction guys, making appearances. Add in Anders’ circle and you have a lot of people in the book. Wilder is still quite the character, but here he is a bit more meddlesome that petulant . We do get to see more positive change for Jax's brother Jason who is very prominent within the supporting character group. While that is all well and good, this book is still too long. There is so much filler and hang wringing and upset mothers. We need 50 pages less, it won't be missed.

Johnson does a very good job with dialogue and scene setting. The story is, like the first, filled with many sweet, emotional moments. However, there is a significant amount of crying to be had. Where I felt the story had some credibility issues is the lack of explanation how Anders’ business worked. It was all very vague and a bit unrealistic. Then there is the disconnect with money. In the first book, Wilder is flown first class on his book tour. It seems unlikely that any publisher is sending a fairly new author on this lavish book tour. In this book, very rich Anders is staying is a hotel that costs $700 a night but tells Ethan that he doesn’t fly first class because with the frequency of his travels, he would be broke. Umm, no. That isn’t how that works - especially living in Atlanta, home to Delta and the worlds busiest airport. Anders would have the miles card and with frequent flying be up front all the time. Perhaps the author needs to check out all the YouTube channels dedicated to flying first. Anders also packs and moves his own office in Manhattan, again, not how that works.

Ultimately I wish for the storyline to be tighter. The balance of Anders and Ethan is better for me than Jax and Wilder, but there is still this broad focus on so many side plots that it is a bit distracting. And the emails, for the love of all things holy - just talk to each other. While still an enjoyable book, it is very dependent on the supporting cast to make it work. Recommended.
