About this listen

Emery
It all comes down to this.

I should have known my freedom from Mercer would only last so long before my pack was hunted down, and I was dragged back into it all. It’s suffocating being back in this place that twisted my shifter side forever and threatened to change who I am. But this time is different.

Because I’m not alone.

As threats to us and our pack pile up, I’m forced to rely on Graham, the overly protective shifter I feel a strange pull toward. We know we have to get away to warn the others of what’s to come, but with Mercer’s shifters breathing down our necks, we’re being thrust into a fight for our lives. We are determined to make it back to the pack and tear down the threat before it consumes all of us.

Graham
I’ve literally never met a more stubborn man in my life than Emery, yet I can’t get him out of my head. He covers up his insecurities and concerns with snark and teasing, but I know that underneath it all is a man who just wants someone to give him a chance. And I’m prepared to be that person if we can fight our way through this. First, we have to escape the threat left behind by Mercer, but escaping isn’t enough. We need to destroy everything the group’s ever worked for to keep each other and our pack safe.

Join Graham, Emery, Rowan, and Quinn for the exciting conclusion to the Winsford Shifters trilogy. This series contains action-filled romance with a dash of comedy, and should be listened to in order.

Emery’s transformation

Interesting take on a shifter world. I liked how Emery overcame his past and became such an optimistic doofus.

Excellent story!

This was an amazing book. I really enjoyed all three of them but this last one was my favorite. I would love to check out books by this author. Thank you for giving the LGBT community a romance novel filled with some awesome characters with depth and hope!!

good

My only complaint is that Quinn and Rowan got two entire books to themselves, so it felt weird that they got so much of this one.

Crying rn

I am so in love with this series & am literally crying that I finished it 😭😭 the story was perfect, the writing was great, the narrator was awesome. I wish there were infinitely more books to this series. I could listen to their story for forever.

Good series!

This is the 3rd book and I wasn’t sure I was going to like Emery, and Graham seemed a bit flat but I did get into it. My favorite scenes are still when Rowan is in his snow leopard form. They are too funny and we did get one here too. The narration was superb!!!

A Stunning Conclusion

Beautiful, heart wrenching, and adventurous this book was quite possibly one of the most satisfying endings to a trilogy I've read in awhile. Winters knows her world well, and knows her characters just as well. She handles mental illness and trauma with authenticity without lacking compassion. Greg is excellent as ever, his voice like silk. Just a wonderful listen.

Loved it

I Loved it. I enjoyed every book in this series and this one is probably my favorite because I just adore Emery. It was amazing how story with some very angsty and scary moments, was so heartwarming and feel good. Emery's sense of humor made me laugh out loud several times, and I loved following his walls come down bit by bit for his special someone. Narrator did a great job, every character in the series sounded unique and just right. Overall this book and the entire series are a perfect listening experience.

enjoyed it

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

📖 Story comment: Good pace, interesting plot with fun and likeable characters.
Story pickups up where Book 2 leaves off but with an Emery/Graham focus, it's all getting complicated and difficult to know who to trust. Still contains the usual heart and humor I've come to expect from this Author. I was entertained - it's all I need to be happy!

🎧 Narrator comment: Greg Boudreaux has done a masterful performance bringing the characters and story to life. He has good timing, rhythm, inflections and intonations and it's easy to distinguish the characters from each other.
A thoroughly enjoyable performance from a narrator at the top of his game.

wonderful

It's review time 🎧
Warning ⚠️: the last book in a series, fantasy, not a standalone, animal shifters, an experiment.

Narrator score🎧 ; Greg did such a wonderful job with the whole series.... he gave to each character life... especially Ari.... the sass was in his voice it was brilliant.

Level of steam🔥: as always Alice's books aren't about the steam at all.... they are about the story... about thr characters about thr connections and more ... but steam isn't the main event at all.... you have some moments of course you do.... but it isn't the subject at all.

Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: well..I already wrote that this series is much different from what Alice wrote so far ... yes she has one different series (within the mind) but this series comes as something else and it worked... you have action and drama..... and some very difficult moments but the book isn't sad... and it isn't too much.... the drama is there but it isn't nerve racking.... but you really want to keep going.

The book itself📖: well.... I loved the series so very much... I think this is the series where Alice has the most characters written that in any book she has... and yet again it isn't difficult to keep up with the story... because every character got into your heart and mind... yes my favorite character is Ari for sure but i can't say he is the best character of thr story ... I think that he is responsible for the comedy part of the story ... but you have so many good characters in here that you love and adore.... and I think this is why Alice is such a good author... she is making us the readers (listener's in this case ) to understand each character even the evil characters that lack of humanity in that case are humanized in their psycho ways...
