About this listen

Eleanor de Lacy must have been mad to agree to exchange identities with her stronger-willed cousin. She would never convince Remington Knight of the folly of this union – especially since the man seemed so determined for it to take place. Worse still, she finds Remington dazzling attractive – and she’s charmed by his attempts to seduce her, even though he believes she is already his. But if he ever learns of Eleanor’s deception, this daring rogue will wreak havoc…upon her reputation and her heart.

Remington had expected a haughty, unbending aristocrat who would ensure his entrance into good society. But this “duchess” is a most pleasant surprise – modest, warm-hearted, endearingly awkward, and a delight to the eye. In short, she is exactly the sort of bride Remington could fall passionately, completely in love with…if he weren’t so intent on his revenge.

Wonderful!

This is a great story about two cousins who Iook enough alike they could be twins. They've switched places and this is the second of the two book series. I read this book before, in fact I've read almost everything by this author. The narrator Justine Eyre is great she is up there with Rosalyn Landor who is totally my favorite. I loved the way she brought the characters to life and the story seem like you are there. I was sorry when it ended when I read it and had the same experience when I listened to it.

One of my favorites

I love twin switch stories, although I didn't much like Madelyn's story. This hero will ruin you for all others, he is so sexy and determined. And the pillow talk, wow! 5 stars!

Better than first book.

Any additional comments?

This is better than book 1. Much more of a 'switching places' story, and completes the story from the first book.

Overall the story is fun, not great but entertaining listen. Narration is good. I have no problem with the male American accent, it's not perfect but Justine E. does a great job overall.

Story:3.5 stars, better than book 1.
Narration: 4 stars, solid performance.
Relationship/ heat: nice development, sweet ending, some hot scenes.

Overall: 3.5 stars, fun listen.

Pretty awful

Made it to chapter 2, then could not go on. Voices put me off immediately, especially the "American" voice.

Narration fail on Hero's voice. And his character.

Wow this hero really started out creepy. The American hero narration sounds creepy and the the things he says is creepy and way too domineering for a historical romance. I don't know how the heroine was liking him at all the first half of the book.

It did get better after about 50%, the author eased up on the creepiness. There story line was just okay. There was a little mystery and revenge going on. But it didn't make up for the first half of the story.

As for the narration. Well Justine Eyre should stick to British accents because this hero's character was not good and the american accent did not help the situation. Otherwise the narration was good.

I can't say I recommend this story. I do recommend the first story in the series, Scandalous Again, that was a much better story by far.

Narrator's American accent of H ruins book...

I loved the first book in this series...and the narrator. But, while this narrator is awesome with British accents, male and female, she is awful with the Hero's accent. I cannot even finish it... Blah...
