About this listen

Hannah Michaelson wants nothing more than a fresh start and a safe place to stay. The only problem? She’s stranded roadside in a small town in the middle of winter. Even worse? Her sister’s baby is asleep in the back seat.

Carter Mitchell has one goal in life - to be the best mechanic he can be while running a successful shop. That, and to avoid love at all costs. But when his family calls on him to help a distressed woman on the side of the road, he doesn’t hesitate. Certain that he can stay strong in the face of the stranger's beauty, he agrees to help.

Soon enough, the rugged mechanic realizes there's more to Hannah's extended stay in Maple Glen than he realized. His aunt is playing matchmaker again, but there’s something Hannah isn’t telling him.

Sweet, clean romance

I was given a copy of this audio book for an honest review. This book is narrated beautifully by Lorana Hoopes. This is my first book by Christina Butrum. It was charming, beautifully written, and hopelessly romantic. This is book #6 in the Maple Glen romance series. i recommend listening to this book.

A simple small town romance.

I liked the characters in this story more than I like the story itself. It was an interesting premise, woman with child seeking shelter and finds a friendly town to take them in. But the story kept dropping threads, like Hannah contemplating skipping town, then, magically, her money issues aren't a big deal? I also feel there was more to Carter's story in previously books that you really needed to know to understand the angst he's supposed to be feeling. I felt the miscommunication issues were weird and didn't make any sense. Your sister won't let you know your girl friend is still in town? Like I said, the characters are very likable. The plot is good, but the story is a bit clunky. The narrator has a nice voice, but needed to be stronger in spots to give full emotion range to the characters. Pleasant to listen, though.

Good, sweet romance

Although One Plus Two is book 6 in the Maple Glen Romance Series, it’s the only one I’ve listened to and it works as a stand-alone. I enjoyed this sweet, clean story, and I’m going to go back and listen to the rest in order. One Plus Two is a great, heartwarming romance, and the narration is well-done. I really enjoyed it.

Another delightful visit to Maple Glen.

Christina Butrum is a master at writing sweet, clean small town romances. Listening to a Christina Butrum book is like listening to a Hallmark movie. Her characters and situations are believable and engaging. The stories draw the reader in and the characters become your friends.

I read One Plus Two before it was released. I loved it! Listening to the audio version really brought the story to life. This is one audio book that I will listen to over and over.

One Plus Two is Book 6 in the Maple Glen Series. I have enjoyed every one of the Maple Glen books. Each book tells the story of one of the Mitchell clan. One Plus Two is the story of Carter Mitchell, a hardworking auto mechanic. He is content to work hard on building his car repair business. He doesn’t have time for romance...until he comes to the rescue of Hannah Michaelson who is stranded by the roadside in the middle of a snowstorm. Carter’s protective instinct kicks in and his heart starts to melt when he sees Hannah stranded with a 6-month-old baby in the back seat of her broken down car.

I recommend One Plus Two and the entire Maple Glen Series. I recommend listening to the series in order so that you understand the characters and their relationships. Maple Glen is a delightful little town inhabited by friendly, caring people. I look forward to the next book in the series.

A Clean Romance

I always enjoy stories where one character thinks love interest has a child and this was no exception . The bond between Hannah and Grace is very precious . The only things I disliked is that the story seemed to drag a little in the middle and the ending scene felt like a HFN instead of a HEA . The narration was also pretty well done .

Sweet small town story

Maple Glen is a cute setting, and I especially loved the winter season. It was nice to hear the story of some of the other characters too.

Love the sense of family

Really enjoyed this sweet, clean, small town romance. The Mitchell family dynamics were great and you could just feel the love thru their bantering. I also love Hannah's sense of duty and of course love for her niece. Also the love for a wayward sister. This is the first book I've listened to/read from this author and it won't be my last.

Also, the narrative was spot on which is always what I find when listening to Lorana Hoopes, well done.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Family by choice

When Hannah finds her infant niece abandoned in an apartment they're being evicted from, she doesn't know what to think. Taking her niece with her, she heads to a friend's house, hours away while she tries to pick up the pieces of her life. A life that's been complicated by her sister's drug addiction.

Along the way, though, her car breaks down, and she's rescued by Carter, a man who decided years before not to open his heart to another woman after the last one he loved broke it.

Yet Carter's resolve is no match for Hannah and sweet little Grace, who soon take up residence in his small town and his heart. The question is, where will things go from here?

This is a heartwarming story that explores the meaning of home and family. And how sometimes both can be found in the most unexpected of places.

Clean YA Romance

Hannah was forced to think about what was best for her baby niece Grace when she was evicted from their apartment after her sister disappeared. Her friend Tara offers to take them in and Hannah’s car breaks down in Maple Glen on the way there. The townspeople take her and Grace in and welcome her into their hearts, especially mechanic Carter who falls hard. I was surprised that nothing was said about how Hannah supported herself and what she was going to do now that she was out of a job and running out of money. This was a clean YA romance.

The narrator, who is also an author, has a pleasant tone with voice changes and emotional inflections in all right place to keep me interested in listening to the story to the end.
