From USA Today best-selling author Ellie Wade comes a sizzling enemies to lovers, forced proximity, only one-bed hockey romance.
Gunner Dreven, the star goalie of the NHL team The Cranes, is known as a beast both on and off the ice. He usually sports a scowl and isn’t one for conversation, though he’s no stranger to the occasional bar fight.
Penelope Stellars is as closed off as they come, with very little social life outside of work. She thrives on staying busy as the PR and social media manager for the Crane Hockey team.
The two are perfect enemies. Gunner can’t stand Penny and the way she always bosses him around. Penny hates how hard Gunner makes her job with his inability to control his temper.
The pair finds themselves stranded after they’re caught in a snowstorm and are forced to wait it out while sharing the last motel room available. Agreeing that a temporary truce is in order, they put their differences aside while they’re stuck together.
Only when they return to the real world, they find it hard to remember why they hated each other in the first place. Annoyance is replaced with a longing that’s hard to ignore. They discover that they are more alike than they realize.
Their undeniable chemistry doesn’t change the reasons they were single in the first place. Is it possible for two broken people to heal enough to make it, or is their relationship doomed for the inevitable heartbreak?
***This is book 3 in the Crane Hockey Series and can be listened to as a standalone.

They are two people both hurting from what happened in their pasts and both distancing themselves from others to avoid heartache.
Not realising that they both have so much in common and can’t see it, but instead both disliking each other immensely.
This is an enemies to lovers, forced proximity story that brought to the surface a lot of emotions that these characters had to confront.
Great storyline and characters, with steamy scenes and a man that protects his woman no matter the cost.
The narrators Savannah Thomas and Christian Leatherman were once again perfect for their roles of Penelope and Gunner which made for pleasurable listening.
Both the ebook and audiobook are excellent.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Damn, do I love a grumpy hockey man and a plus-size queen! Gunner “The Beast” Dreven is a goalie who lives up to his nickname—growly, broody, and the king of “leave me alone” energy. And Penelope? The no-nonsense PR boss lady who handles his messes with stilettos and sass. If you’re a hockey girl in your goalie era (aren’t we all?), you already know goalies are a different breed. Thank goodness for that.
When a snowstorm strands these two enemies in a one-bed motel, the grumpy energy collides with boss-lady brilliance, and sparks fly harder than a slapshot. The banter? Sharp. The chemistry? Off the charts. Gunner pining for Penny’s curves while trying to act unbothered? Delicious.
This story is a penalty box full of everything you want: heat, sass, and a goalie who finally realizes his perfect match has been bossing him around all along. Ellie, I’m hooked. Send me straight to the sin bin for loving this!
