About this listen

A New York Times bestseller

The bestselling sequel—and conclusion—to Victoria Schwab’s instant #1 New York Times bestseller This Savage Song.

Kate Harker is a girl who isn’t afraid of the dark. She’s a girl who hunts monsters. And she’s good at it. August Flynn is a monster who can never be human. No matter how much he once yearned for it. He has a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost.

Nearly six months after Kate and August were first thrown together, the war between the monsters and the humans is a terrifying reality. In Verity, August has become the leader he never wished to be, and in Prosperity, Kate has become the ruthless hunter she knew she could be. When a new monster emerges from the shadows—one who feeds on chaos and brings out its victim’s inner demons—it lures Kate home, where she finds more than she bargained for. She’ll face a monster she thought she killed, a boy she thought she knew, and a demon all her own.

A gorgeously written dark fantasy from New York Times–bestselling author Victoria Schwab, and one to hand to fans of Holly Black, Laini Taylor, and Maggie Stiefvater.

Very Good.

Started off a little emo but got a lot better. It actually made me feel feelings for some characters.

Enthralling Story

The story was addictive, the narrator is spot on. The only thing that prevented me from truly loving the story or the “woke” elements. I guess I’m too old.

Loved the characters

I was commuted to the cause these characters were fighting for- the ending was bittersweet but great.

This sequel to Savage Song did not let me down.

Although like 90% of books and movies, this was predictable to some extent, but also full of great surprises, including the end.

Loved it!

I absolutely loved this series. The writing was amazing and I most definitely got lost in the story. I even cried while driving to work because the characters have grown on me and their struggles were real. This went straight to my favorites and can’t recommend it enough!

Amazing end to the duology

Amazing performance by the narrator that just pulled me into the story. This is a great duology and I can't wait to read more from this author! <3

Amazing Finish!

These books are so special! They are sad, action packed, terrifying, and brutally honest. The narrator was amazing! She held the sharpness and sarcasm, it really made the story better! Our Dark Duet was even better than the first! Despite breaking my heart into tiny pieces, I enjoyed this! Both August and Kate grew so much! The ending was hear wrenching but final. Even the sad stuff was done so well, I wasn’t mad. My only complaint is the ending let some doors wide open. However, I’m so glad I finally finished this series!

Victoria Schwab sucked me in again!

I didn't review Savage Song because I was too eager to start Our Dark Duet.
I'm a fan of Therese Plummer as a narrator and she did a wonderful job for both of those books. Each voice is defined. She builds suspense by narratoring in just the right ways. She's an absolute joy to listen to.

I listened to these two books as much as could to get through them in about 2 1/2 days.
I found myself thinking deep thoughts about what Schwab was saying about her world. There is "church" in these novels but

<spoiler>......
a certain character burns "A" church down in the very beginning of the first book to get her dad's attention to bring her home.

<un-spoiled>

The world Schwab has created came across as a world without forgiveness for "sinners."
Well, I can't go on more without giving away more spoilers.
It's not a religious book in anyway just thought provoking.

A lot of action and on the edge of your seat suspense.

Demon like creatures, and vampire like ones, and creepy scavenger fairies..."oh my!!"
It's worth it 10 x over if this is your genre.
