About this listen

Learned helplessness occurs when a person feels there is no exit out of an undesirable situation. When this happens, there is a sense of disempowerment, leading to lowered self-esteem. People under mountains of debt, stress, or poverty often experience the sensation of having their situation beyond their control - opening the door for learned helplessness - in which they stop trying to improve their circumstances.

Fortunately, you are able to consciously change your thinking patterns to assist yourself out of such downward spiral thinking. Numerous studies have shown that the brain forms neural pathways based on your thoughts - which means you are more in control of your automatic thinking than you might initially conclude. You can "think" your way to being a more optimistic person who is willing and able to change any circumstance you desire.

  • This audiobook will help you:
  • Overcome learned helplessness
  • Rewire your mind to be more positive
  • Gain more confidence
  • Improve your self image
  • Increase your self respect
  • Take back your inner power to change your own destiny
  • This audiobook includes:
  • Inspiring affirmations
  • Upbeat and motivational music

You can repeat each affirmation after you hear it, or just listen and allow the affirmations to penetrate into your subconscious. The tempo of the music is upbeat and uplifting, which means you can listen to this audiobook during any part of the day. Many people prefer to listen to these affirmations during their commute to work, or as they are getting ready to start a brand new day. The process of rewiring your mind to think more positive is gradual - but worth the effort, as your life will dramatically improve along with your thoughts.

Enjoyable and Empowering, Will Listen Again

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have always struggled with self esteem issues since I was a teenager (maybe even younger, but I must still be blocking those memories). So, this topic hits a soft spot for me. When I started listening to this audiobook, I initially started feeling sorry for myself honestly - as that is a normal reaction for me when I think about why I have low self esteem (long story...).

However, the more I listened, a strange thing started to happen. I started to feel happy. Not for any particular reason, and my self esteem issues certainly weren't "cured" within one listening session. But, I felt okay - like it was okay to be imperfect. Like I could accept my imperfections while I'm trying to better myself. For this feeling, I would say the audiobook is worth a listen.

Any additional comments?

I found this audiobook to be therapeutic. I have wanted to begin building my confidence for a long time and stop feeling like a victim of life's often cruel circumstances. These affirmations reminded me that I am not a victim. I DO have power, and I can use it to change myself for the better. Thanks for this wonderful message.

Go ahead, listen to it.

Not bad, definitely beats trying to alter my consciousness in any other way. Interesting music on the last two sections, sounds promising.

what it says on the tin, I guess.

I had the notion that this would go into the psychology of affirmations a bit, or have something intellectually overeating at all. but no, it's literally just one of those "I am good, I am powerful" etc kind of tapes. which, as someone with lifelong depression, aka "tends not to think general positivity applies to me," helps me none at all.

I bought this title trying to learn about learned helplessness, as research. so that's my bad, I guess, but with all the claims the summary makes, I don't think it was an unreasonable assumption, bc of reasons stated above. it's not exactly a secret that depression brain tends to work that way.
