Fantastic!

Lydia Farnsworth’s family had all died and her father Laird Thornbury was on his death bed. He had invited men from all around to compete in a contest and the winner would marry Lydia. Alasdair McTavish was the son of Craiglocky Keep’s war chief and a married man. His wife had left him eight years ago. Rumor had it that she was a whore in a whorehouse. Alasdair went to Tornsbury to be their war chief. Then things got into twists and turns that will make you bite your nails. A fantastic, exciting story of love you don’t want to miss. David did a wonderful job narrating it. He was perfect for this emotional story.

An entertaining story

Two people, Lydia and Alasdair, who have had previous loves but are attracted to each other. Due to family interference, they have to spend time in each other's company. Lydia wants to be able to act as she wants, without the restrictions placed upon her as a woman. Alasdair has his own reasons for resisting his attraction to Lydia. There is a villain to add to the mix. This story starts off quite slowly but really builds to an absorbing climax. There are some very amusing turns of phrase that had me chuckling but also some heart rending moments. The narrator gave a very good reading, bringing the scenes to life with different voices.
