About this listen

The Initiation has begun. As the universe merges into the multiverse, its inhabitants are thrust into a trial designed to prepare them for the sweeping changes that will redefine existence itself.

Alistair’s life is turned upside down when he is abruptly separated from his friends and family. As the universe slowly transforms and new laws take hold, everyone within his universe is cast into the trial—a crucible of survival and transformation. Before being set on his path, Alistair encounters a system avatar—a brief and enigmatic guide who offers little explanation, guidance, or aid before sending him and the rest of his universe into the unknown.

Stranded on a trial world, Alistair must fight to survive. Delving into dungeons, hunting great beasts, and navigating the diverse Trial Worlds and Subspaces, he begins a desperate quest to reunite with his loved ones.

Along the way, he finds his soulmate—a demoness from another world. Together, they face the trial, forge bonds, and grow stronger as they uncover what the future holds for them and the rest of their universe.

was very well done

nothing groundbreaking a kitchen soup system apocalypse with this first book being all tutorial. the main haracters are pretty likable. there was a fair bit of focus the romance subplot it wasn't bad but the main character does feel a bit lasèissez faire about the whole apocalypse part overall it was fun though

Good storyline

Love the storyline. It is good to have a series that is more than just murder hobos. Would love more exploration but I have a feeling that might be coming in future books.

a good book

it was a very good book. I like the incorporation of several different styles the normal tropes and The characters were good pretty much everything was good except the chapters always seem to end on like an awkward note like they should have gone on to include some of the next chapter and the next chapter with this place there for random reasons. each chapter really didn't have a good endpoint to me at least about the book itself was good.

Doesn’t stay focused

I’ve listened for 7 hours and It spends more time discussing love interests and relationships then telling the story about an apocalypse and being teleported on a strange planet. So it’s like most books. If that’s your cup of tea then it’s a story for you, but if you want a STORY that’s focused then this isn’t it. Save your credit.

Narrator is excellent but it’s a shame he’s reading this book.

Standard and boring.

The story is so standard and goes right into tropes. As soon as the mc is isekai'd theres a chick drooling all over him since she is a succubus. The whole universe is getting intagrated and the mc is there hanging with what would be a harem if it werent for the other male and the alien who isnt very humanoid. The whole book lacks urgency since its never mentioned whats really gonna happend to the planet and its denizens. If it was i surely didnt notice since the whole thing was so boring. The jokes at first were ok but as the book kept on they really turned dry. I have gone though other books with this narrator and those books where interesting enough that the narration didnt bother me and i dont think it bothered me here either i just found this book and a bit of the other books the narrator happed to narrate to be borring at parts and im call it on the narrator on this one. Either they keep getting the most uninteresting books to narrate or its the narrator. Got this book at a discount and im never gonna get my money back. Not worth it.
