About this listen
In his continuing quest to earn college recommendation letters from the gods, Percy has to pet sit the goddess Hecate's polecat and giant mastiff during Halloween week. What could go wrong?
Rick Riordan’s newest Percy Jackson adventure is full of hilarious set pieces, a diverse cast of gods and monsters, and many other delightful tricks and treats. Percy Jackson, now a high school senior, needs three recommendation letters from the Greek gods in order to get into New Rome University. He earned his first one by retrieving Ganymede’s chalice. Now the goddess Hecate has offered Percy another “opportunity”—all he has to do is pet sit her polecat, Gale, and mastiff, Hecuba, over Halloween week while she is away. Piece of cake, right?
Percy, Annabeth, and Grover settle into Hecate’s seemingly endless mansion and start getting acquainted with the fussy, terrifying animals. The trio has been warned not to touch anything, but while Percy and Annabeth are out at school, Grover can’t resist drinking a strawberry-flavored potion in the laboratory. It turns him into a giant frenzied goat, and after he rampages through the house, damaging everything in sight, and passes out, Gale and Hecuba escape.
Now the friends have to find Hecate’s pets and somehow restore the house, all before Hecate gets back on Saturday. It’s going to take luck, demigod wiles, and some old and new friends to hunt down the animals and set things right again.

Story
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

Apparently she's his girlfriend Piper, his best friend is a kid named Leo, and they're all students in the Wilderness School, a boarding school for "bad kids." What he did to end up here, Jason has no idea—except that everything seems very wrong.

Not very dramatic, yet very
It seemed like Rick Riordan tried a little to hard to make it so Percy had a “lesson”, and it just seemed a little forced. Along with that, it seemed a little low on comedy. There was a lot of jokes, but none made me laugh like they usually do. Lastly for the negative comments, the story line was missing something big. I have read The Titan’s curse exactly 91 times, and am planning to continue to make that number larger, but I will probably only listen to this book one-two times more. But, there was a lot of great parts in the story, and definitely enough drama to keep me reading. The performance was very nice, though I had to speed it up to 1.25, but that is just how I like my books read. Over all, it is a very good book, and if you have read the original Percy Jackson books, all the way to trials of Apollo, and chalice of the gods, I definitely recommend this. It needed work for sure, but I enjoyed it. Those were some things that I liked and disliked about it, and I know I hated on it a lot, but it really is good. I hope you have a very good day, and wake up refreshed, and content tomorrow, along with all the other days to come.

one of the best books full of adventures.
I have been reading Rick Riordan's books since I was 12. and I'm 23. I've grown with Percy as he has grown with me and the adventures still continue.

Because the book series is taking place before the trials of Apollo. I think Jason should be in that next one. Because I feel like we need more stories with Jason because there is some more stories to tell with him 😁😁😁😁

Love Percy Jackson!
Jesse Bernstein is the best narrator for Percy. As usual, Percy’s quest does not disappoint. The inclusion of the “original three,” is perfect for those of us who have been reading Percy’s story for years. New readers will also enjoy.

The improvement from the last book
Ok don’t get me wrong but the last book was good but this is a whole new 2 levels and I’m wondering how sally hasn’t had the baby yet since every Percy Jackson book was another year.
