About this listen

Book one in the Pete, Drinker of Blood series!

Hollywood resident Pete Tyler is used to wanting what he shouldn't have—human blood—and what he can't have—a juicy cheeseburger, or the gorgeous Angie who serves those burgers down at the Starbucket on the Sunset Strip. He’s become comfortable with the lonely but predictable way he's survived since he died in 1973, when vampire lord Carson Fitzgerald turned him.

Now, however, Fitzgerald has returned to Los Angeles, and is demanding his children tend to his needs in a rather unpleasant way. To get the girl and remain unliving, Pete’s gonna have to take the fight to Fitzgerald by joining forces with the prissy Hollywood vampires who have always annoyed the hell out of him—and that's when the shit is gonna hit the fangs!

DIsappointing

When an ad came up for this book saying it was like a Jim Butcher novel, I was excited, but it fell flat in the first few minutes. I was bored. always waiting for something more exciting to happen. I found Pete less and less likable as the story went on. the performance was fine. I think I went in expecting something it simply wasn't.

one of my favourite books

I've loved this book for years. it's a love letter to classic horror, classic cars, classic rock, and Los Angeles. a truly fun story, with great characters. I was thrilled to learn there was an audiobook version out! the narrator has a pleasant voice that suits the story, but his delivery is just a bit stilted.

Pete wants to be left alone

The thing is the person who turned him does want him to have peace. That takes him to make some choices to change things and get the girl or go with the flo. Can you guess what he picks. I’m not telling read the book. If fun and quirky.

Classic Cars, Rock and Cool Chick

Pete just wants to work his night job in Hollywood not bring any attention to himself and just admire Angie, the girl he sees most nights, and has a crush on. Is that to much to ask of anyone.
This has some great characters and the narrator is one that you could listen to with no complaints. The story progresses and with the end of the book I am wanting book 2 and I hope it comes out. For now I will grab the book and continue Pete's journey.

Fun Vampire Story

l really liked this cheezy vampire book. Nice flow to the story, and a good narrator made it a fun listen.
