Rick Gregory
From the author of Feast and Reinheit comes a new chapter in horror....
Planet of the Dead.
News reports speak of mass panic and violence spreading across the globe. Negligent leaders hide behind misinformation. But in an age of paranoia and suspicion, who can say what is true anymore? Struggling to survive against a sweeping epidemic that has engulfed the planet, survivors will have to make hard choices in a world that no longer makes sense.
Live. Die. Or become one of the undead.

I think a good reason for that, aside from excellent writing, was the amazing work done by Rick Gregory. The man can tell a story. He played this like he was in the middle of the zombie horde. The fact that he makes each character distinct and unique is impressive enough, but the way he controls the story is just off the charts impressive. He is without a doubt, one of my favorite narrators. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Writing: The writing was above average. Structures were fine and was never confused on what thebother wanted to say. I also enjoyed the structure of putting the characters in different chapters which can be found in Game of Thrones.
Narrator: The production was fine. I found the women to have a bitchy tone to them and not sure that was what was to be protrayed.

I reccomend this book. Its fun, fast and brutal at times.

I am a huge fan of Rick Gregory's gritty voice and happen to enjoy most of the stories he reads. This narration really impressed me. I think he did a really good job with his voice and tone in this story and it is clear that he is maturing as a narrator.

Creepy Zombie Story

Yes, this is another zombie book but what can I say, I like them. This one is pretty decent, even if it is short. It's also more a set of short stories loosely tied together but that's okay, I didn't mind. We follow a few different characters as they slowly realize what's really going on, that the dead have risen, and how they deal with that knowledge. It's not always easy and some of the characters don't make it to the end of the book.
The stories are fast-paced and keep you interested in what's going to happen next in the story and to the characters. Some people have said that they didn't like the multiple characters, it gets hard to follow, but I don't have that problem. One of my favorite zombie series does that and as long as you get to know the characters, it adds to the story instead of taking it away. The ending came too fast and I want to find out what happens next, so I might look into the next book. Hopefully its as good as the first one.
Mr. Gregory does a good job of keeping the flow of the story going, slowing things down when you need a break but making the action seem exciting and fast-paced without rushing things. He does pretty well with the different characters. He might not give them distinct voices but he makes it fairly easy to keep track of who's talking without getting lost.
Overall, this is a good zombie book if you like that genre and I'm going to consider adding the author to my list of must-reads.
