Best-selling dystopian author James Hunt brings you his collection of highly rated EMP survival novels. These stories have accumulated over 150 five-star reviews and have been boxed together for the first time!

The Last Orchard

Charlie Decker traveled to Seattle to acquire a much needed loan for his family’s orchard. After a dozen requests, Charlie is forced to head home empty-handed. But his plans are derailed after an unexpected attack on the city renders all electronics useless. No cars. No phones. Everything about the modern world has been destroyed. And that’s when the chaos begins.

Surviving the Collapse

What happens when all means of transportation and communication suddenly vanish? What happens when you can’t call for help? What happens when the only person you can rely on is yourself? Captain Kate Hillman is about to discover those answers after an EMP sends New York City, and it’s nine million residents, back into the Stone Age.

Poor Reading

I can't finish this book and that makes me sad. The main narrator, I don't know which one, tries over-the-top reading. I can't tell if the author, James Hunt, wrote a good book. I am one and a half parts through this book and I know I have to return it. The narrator(s) pushed reading to a new low for me. I'm sorry Mr Hunt.

Heroine instead of a hero!

I like the fact the last book has a heroine and the narrator was ok. There were obvious changes in the tone and inflections at a couple of points and I found it difficult to "hear" a menacing male character with a soft female voice. I would have rated 5 stars for the performance if the narrators had a bit more range to hit the male voice tones and were consistent from chapter to chapter. Story lines are a bit predictable. In my opinion, there was not much anticipation or suspense and often had to rewind because I realized I had tuned out and missed parts.

I'll likely give James Hunt a second chance but at this point, I wouldn't recommend his novels. I like the narrators voices but I don't think this genre highlights their talent.

The Most Raw SHTF Book On Audible

I loved the book, the story was raw and real.

I loved how the transitions were made, but I guess I'm not as ready for SHTF as most preppers think because the story of Dennis, that despicable piece of garbage made my skin crawl, but the story wouldn't have worked without his filth.

Most books in this genre are feel good junk and that's a generous statement! This book grabbed my attention until completion - I must thank Mr. Hunt, Mrs. Masters and Mrs. Drew for such a wonderfully written and narrated story... This is a rare example of what happens and how much better any effort can be when one makes a serious commitment toward pushing boundaries and not being bound by the morality or ethics we must adhere to in order to maintain a civilized society because the posited theory made by this story. So many authors bind their creative process to those conceptual emotional blocks and it greatly hinders their story. This book isn't one of them - This book smacks you in the face and draws up real emotion in the process all while keeping you engaged and intrigued at the horror and chaos but empathetic for the souls in peril. Absolutely recommend, thanks again to all involved. Bravo!

NOT a full box set

The first 2 books were very good, however the 3rd was an entirely different one which I had already listened to and was not noted in the description. feel like I was cheated one the "series."

Don’t listen to the reviews you read

I have listened to about 15 of these survival EMP books and I really like them so when it came time for a new book I read a lot of reviews and this one had some pretty bad ones, well I’m glad I didn’t listen because this one is great so far and I’m 2.5 hours in. The reader is great, she does a great job of voice changing and emphasis on words when it’s time too. The story is real and I could totally see people go off the rails with in the first day( anyone remember The LA riots, Ferguson,Baltimore). Some people just don’t want to accept the fact that bad people do bad things and they will if power goes out and there are no law enforcement. Great job in a great story.

Disappointed

started out good but the plot got a bit ridiculous with too many holes to ignore at the end.

Barely tolerable

The narrators need to go back to acting school or at least take the time to listen to the way real people speak. Their speech is not realistic. The book would have been better with different narrators, preferably a male as the main character is male.

Very good!

If you ever wonder what would happen if America were to get hit with an EMP (God forbid!), this book will show it. I read a lot of these "post-apocalyptic" books, but this is one that really shows what would happen when the prisons would eventually need to release very dangerous thugs out into society. Killers, rapists, madmen coming against good people banning together, trying to help each other don't stand much of a chance against those worst of the worst. Gives you something to think about if you think you might have what it takes to protect your family. Think again. Great 3 book series, with a great reader who really gives you the feeling of evil eminating from the worst criminals. Highly recommend!
