About this listen

Silas

The fae prince caught my eye the moment I saw him, and no, it didn’t have anything to do with the fact that he was being abducted. It’s not even that Callisto adores the large mount who wants to maim him. Or that every time he smiles, flowers bloom around him. No, there’s something else that draws me to him, though when the kingdom begins to fall apart around us, I realize I’m not the only one who wants him.

But the others want him dead.

With memories of my past hanging over me, I’m trapped between who I want to be and who I need to be to protect Callisto.

Callisto

While being officially crowned prince should be my main concern, something isn’t quite right with the king—unless it’s normal to have an evil mist hanging around you. Then again, who am I to judge when I can poison someone with just a kiss?

When an attack on the royal court leaves me wounded, I have no one to turn to but Silas, but he wants to keep me at a distance… like he’s afraid of me finding out the secrets he holds. Thankfully, with Dandelion (my sweet mount—don’t listen to Silas), a strange and suspicious coin, and Silas’s friend who can speak to animals (who don’t seem interested in speaking to him) at our side, we’re going to tip this fight in our favor and prove that heroes (and love) come in all forms.

Prince of Poison is a standalone title. Books from this series can be enjoyed in any order.

5-Stars for Callisto and Silas

This is an amazing story that took so many unexpected turns and kept me on my toes. I have to say it was wonderful with amazing Characters, lots of laughs and so much heart and edge of your seat excitement I just loved it. I appreciate the humor and also the characters development. Callisto is just so sweet and caring and Silas was broody and snarky and loving. I just adored them. Plus my fave parts are the animals and with side characters like Madden and Dandelion… you can’t go wrong. 5 stars. Btw the Audio takes it to a new level! Loved it!

Great Story

Callisto can grow vines, flowers and also poison people and plants. Silas can rip souls from the living to kill them. They meet while Callisto is impersonating a prince that people want to kill. They find that someone is trying to control the king of Vermillion and is bringing the dead to life. With friends (Dandelion and Madden) they fix what’s wrong, all the while falling in love.

I loved the main story. And I loved Madden’s short story at the end.

The narrator brought the characters to life and very funny.

This book was great!

I really liked this book! I’m definitely going to give it another listen right after I check to see if there are sequels and if there are listen to them first. I think I’ve decided I am a huge Alice Winters fan as well. I was putting this one off because audible kept recommending it but the cover looked like it was going to be about some happy idiot. Which fine. But sometimes I don’t want a story about how being born beautiful solves all your problems with a smile. & I was wrong. This story is not that. I’m not sure how to tell you about the story though. Alice Winters has written a bunch of books and after having read a handful of full or so I think I see the general broad strokes. So I can tell you about that without giving any of the story away. Alice winters writes gay fiction. Which is probably why you are here. Huzzah you found some. Unlike much gay fiction Alice winter’s doesn’t traumatize her audience because she is not a monster like that. Yay someone nice! Her two main characters are almost always the two main love interests. She likes funny situations and funny drama. Which keeps things light and fun! She likes minor twists that you don’t see coming! She gives you a fun adventure. Honestly her writing feels safe, comforting , and familiar without actually ever being familiar at all. If you haven’t read anything she’s written yet you are probably missing out on something you’ll love so give one of her books a chance!
