About this listen

Sean Drummond's superiors are exhausted by the political fallout that always seems to trail the Army lawyer's wake, so they loan him out for a year to a high-powered law firm to soak up civilian lawyering. Once there, his undiplomatic ways ruffle the firm's executives, his predecessor is murdered, and the firm's biggest client throws up a red flag. Soon, a series of grisly murders will pit Drummond against a financially-stretched mega-corporation desperate for a contract, and a foreign intelligence organization undaunted by the prospect of killing anyone opposing its aims.©2003 Brian Haig (P)2003 Time Warner AudioBooks Espionage Fiction Legal Military Police Procedural Political Suspense War & Military Thriller Mystery Loan

Brian Haig is among the best thriller writers!

Private Sector is novel #4 in the Sean Drummond military legal thriller series and it is the only one of the 7 novels not available in unabridged audio format, so I'm reviewing the abridged audio version. The genres are legal thriller and suspense thriller. Drummond is forced by his boss to take a year away from his JAG criminal job to work in an elite Washington DC law firm which specializes in civil matters including government lobbying. His initial passive-aggressive response is easily foreseen. But then a JAG lawyer he has worked with in the past and who has spend the prior year with the same firm is murdered followed by other women being murdered in the same way by an apparent serial killer. The plot is multi-tiered and complex, but author Brian Haig pulls it off brilliantly. Private Sector is a great suspense thriller. Narration is also great.

Scott Brick should have narrated this!

What did you like best about Private Sector? What did you like least?

If Scott Brick had narrated this book as he has some of your others this may have gotten much better reviews, but these narrators where just plain boring!

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Boring!
