Publisher's summary

The youngest warlock to ever wield lightning, 14-year-old Anna Atticus Stone dreams of attending the prestigious Academy of Arcane Arts.

Except her life is a mess. She's friendless, her older sister keeps knocking her teeth out, and her parents constantly argue.

Anna endures the chaos by studying for the coming academy entrance trials. A pass will mean friends, warlock tournaments, and exploring a thousand-year-old academy - maybe even solving a mystery or two.

But when she discovers her father carries an ancient and powerful secret intended for only one daughter - a secret her sister will do anything to possess - Anna finds herself in a desperate fight for her family...and her very future.

Prodigy of Thunder is packed with powerful sorcery, fearless adventure, ancient mysteries, and tender betrayal. It can be heard alone or as a prequel to Sever Bronny's best-selling coming-of-age sagas The Arinthian Line series and the Fury of a Rising Dragon series.

Amazing Performance and Glimpse into Anna's Life

The narrator did an amazing job at performing this book. She didnt just read the lines to us, She acted out the emotions and gave the characters life. As far as the book itself, it was one of those books you cannot put down or stop listening to. 5 stars all around.

Fantastic performance of a good but straightforward book.

I came to this book because of Moira Quirk, the reader, who did not disappoint. not quite as strong of a performance as the TLT series but very good. lots of emotion lots of engaging character voices.

The book itself is a little bit of a mixed bag. enjoyably written, especially the wizard duels. However, I have two minor problems that keep it from being a 5 out of 5. firstly, it seems almost everyone in this world immediately resorts to either yelling or physical violence for any altercation which kind of becomes one-note over time. Secondly, it's very straightforward. I'm not a ton of surprises or twists and turns. I think there was only one that I sort of didn't see coming and its actually took away from character depth rather than adding to it.

Still fun, but I don't feel like it's going to stick with me. I'll probably give the second book a go, but mostly because of Moira Quirk's performance.

Worth a credit

While the girl's bickering does get tedious over time, and Anna's reactions are frustrating, the story is interesting enough that I will pick up book 2.

SPOILERS
Hopefully she doesn't spend the whole book whining about her sister again...if she does, well, this series will end for me. With the deaths of those 2, perhaps Anna will get a grip and work towards something cool.

If you're a fan of Sever Bronny's writing, you will appreciate this story about Anna Atticus Stone. It is an informative story regarding the most powerful warlock in Mr. Bronny's world.

High YA Fantasy!

Normally I prefer a shorter listen, but this tale was so well written, the characters so well developed, that for the first time in years I lost sleep for just one more chapter. Highly recommend.

The rivalry between the two sisters

Everything about this book is just so amazing that I can’t even begin to imagine how much I would love a sequel

Surprisingly refreshing Performance made the book

Narrator, amazing made the book! Ana's mannerisms and the story flow reminds me of the video series Ann with an e. If you like the series of Ann/e you will enjoy this book.
