Brice

Brittany Cournoyer may be a fairly new writer in the mm world but I predict great things for her in the future if she continues to write the way she did with this novel! It had great action, an interesting plot and was an overall great read. Kenneth Obi continues to hone his craft and did a nice job bringing this book to life.

If you like action/adventure with your romance, then you will enjoy “Promise to Shield”. Carter was a bit over the top alpha for my taste, but the story was interesting.
Kenneth Obi’s narration is very good. He gives each character their own voice and brings the story to life with his expressive style.

Promise to Shield is the second book in Brittany Cournoyer's Personal Protectors series. Brice and Carter are steamy together. The story is highly entertaining with action, funny moments, sweet moments, hot times and some angst. The two main characters clash and then come together with passion... and the supporting cast of characters are intriguing as well. Definitely makes me want more from this series.

Kenneth Obi narrates this story and does a fantastic job bringing the story and characters to life. Loved it.

Once again Kenneth Obi did a great job! Brittany Cournoyer series is a perfect mix of action, strong alpha males and feels you can't help but envy. A perfect combination with that voice :)

Carter is hired by Larry to guard his son Brice since Larry has a dangerous job and fears someone might retaliate against him using his son. During the course of his job a problem from Carter's past finds him and puts everyone in danger. Overall I enjoyed this audiobook, I liked the characters and the story. I think that sometimes Brice came across a little younger than his 24 years but that may have just been the snark talking. I think Brice and Carter had good chemistry and I liked the side characters. I especially liked Kenneth Obi's depiction of the characters and that truly enhanced the story. Recommended.

This is my first book by Brittany Cournoyer but won't be my last(really want to read the first book in this series) This is the second book in this series but it does work okay out of order. I followed quite well however I would have liked to have known a bit more about Carter and why he was guarding Brice, and Larry Brice's dad. All that was probably covered in the first book and didn't really take away from this.
Carter has been living with Brice as his built-in bodyguard for a year or more now. Brice doesn't like it and is quite the brat.
I like the Growly Carter and Bratty Brice. I loved the back and forth fighting that led to hot sex. I thought the story was a perfect mix of tension, intrigue, mystery, suspense, and romance. I loved it!

Kenneth Obi added a great flair with unique voices for each man. You could hear Carters growls and grunts and the snark in Brice's voice. and the sex? OH MY! if you have the opportunity get the audio, it really does bring the book to life and make boring chores much more fun.
