Publisher's summary

“A compassionate heroine bridges the divide between the spirit world and earthly evil in this well-paced thriller. Proof of Life will keep readers flipping pages all night!” (S.W. Hubbard, author of Another Man’s Treasure)

After recovering from amnesia five years ago, Jessica Mack never told anyone she had started hearing voices from the spirit world. Now, forced to use her “gift” to help find missing four-year-old Ethan Starkey, she can no longer ignore the voices. Time is running out for little Ethan as Jessica, and Sage Boles, a man with a mysterious past, are guided by the voices to a séance, where they hope to get clues to the child’s whereabouts.

“With Proof of Life,’Sheila Lowe continues her fascinating series that began with What She Saw, where Jessica Mack’s life was fractured in a terrible accident. Now, years later, she struggles to understand a gift she has been given, a gift that frightens her as she attempts to grasp its meaning in her life. Proof of Life is a heart-wrenching and heartwarming story that explores the universe beyond the veil, delving into the universal questions we all contemplate. I loved this book and couldn’t put it down! I’m sure Jessica’s story will take readers on a thrilling journey as she discovers new life and new love.” (Connie di Marco, author of The Zodiac Mysteries and the Soup Lovers’ Mysteries)

Is it or Is it Not? It is Entertaining!

Sheila Lowe is a very good writer.
The first paragraph of this story, grabbed my attention and imagination and never let go.
It was thrilling, exciting and gruesome, at times, but never dull.
I listen as I walk and I wanted to keep walking to hear more of the story.
If you believe it is possible for there to be more to life than what we see, hear, feel, and taste, then you will enjoy this story and root for Jessica.

Heartwarming!!!

I like how there are characters from the other series incorporated into this series. The story is so, heartwarming with a happy ending! I hope Shelia will continue on with the series! Anna does a great job with the characters.

I was provided a free copy in exchange for my honest review.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Audiobook!

Full disclosure, I first purchased this book in paperback and love it! The when I say that Anna Crowe was narrating, I couldn’t resist purchasing the audible as well.

Sheila Lowe is without a doubt one of my favorite authors! I have enjoyed each and every one of her books. This one however, covered all my interests, and as usual held me captive from the first chapter to the last. Lowe’s ability to transport the reader into the story is what I most admire. As with all of Lowe’s novels, I felt like I was part of the story.

“Proof of Life” continues the mystery and development of Jessica Mack, the main character in “What She Saw.” Sheila Lowe’s gifted ability to seamlessly merge together characters in this series with those of the Claudia Rose handwriting series is superb. Lowe’s description and detail of the afterlife and mediumship are genuine and mirror my own research and personal experience.

This story blends together the suspense of a murder mystery, and the curiosity and wonder of the afterlife. I highly recommend it!

An unsuspecting clairvoyant

After suffering the death of her son, amnesia, brain implant manipulation, and almost being murdered in book 1, Jessica is now hearing voices from the dead, including her lost son asking her to help another boy. Her journey into the unknown on both sides of the veil is highly captivating.

Captivating Listen!

Sheila Lowe pulled me in immediately with Proof of Life. I have enjoyed her forensic handwriting books and found this one to be very well done. The storyline is fast paced and has well developed characters. The book has great details and imagery. I loved the suspense and found the ending to be fantastic. Anna Crowe did justice to the book with her performance. She adds the right emotions. I received this complementary audiobook and did not let that influence my review. The story is so good! The cameo appearances of characters from other books was an added plus to me. I highly recommend this book, author and narrator.

Proof Of Life

I liked it.A woman discovers she has powers to connect with the dead. She ,of course, helps the police. It has all been done before...but not with twins. Identical twins Jenna and Jess seem to survive a lot of drama. Narration was good.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

emotional

It was disheartening that the sisters were estranged after all they had been through in the first book. I'm glad there was a reconciliation by the end of the story. Ethan's story was so sad, but impactful with a happy ending. I was sorry Zach got it so wrong in relation to Jess. Sad too that he still harbored feelings for her. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Great Read

Proof of Life (Beyond the Veil Mystery #2) was a great read by Sheila Lowe. Jessica Mack recovered from amnesia five years ago. She never told anyone that she started hearing voices from the spirit world. She now has to use her "gift" to find missing four year old Ethan Starkey. She cannot ignore the voices any more. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
