About this listen

When freelance advertising artist Kelli Ann Harrison agrees to oversee the final phase of construction on her brother's glamorous Lake Tahoe house, she intends to make a holiday out of it: lend her brother a helping hand and at the same time enjoy the area's winter sports.

An unexpected encounter at a holiday mixer, however, leads to a job offer that throws Kelli's plans into disarray. Grant Pembroke, founder of Pembroke Advertising, is in town to bid for the lucrative Cassera's Casino account. Impressed by Kelli's artistic vision, Grant makes her a proposition that's too exciting to refuse: team up with him to forge an ad campaign for the bid.

Kelli is determined to keep things professional, but that won't be easy, considering the high-voltage charge that sizzles between them from the start. With his creative ingenuity and broad-shouldered, dark-haired good looks, Grant makes it very difficult for Kelli to concentrate on her work - especially when it becomes clear that his feelings for her go far beyond the workplace. They make a wonderful team. But Grant is as headstrong as he is talented, and at times the two of them clash.

Can business and pleasure mix? If Kelli and Grant play their cards right, can a whirlwind love affair last forever?

Editorial reviews

Holly Fielding's alluring, silky smooth performance of Syrie James' Propositions elevates the sexual tension that exists the moment freelance advertising artist Kelli Ann Harrison meets the handsome and successful San Francisco ad exec Grant Pembroke at a mixer in Lake Tahoe. As they begin work on a project together, their mutual attraction is undeniable, but separating business and pleasure proves to be more difficult than either could've imagined.

Listeners will be immediately entranced by Fielding's vibrant portrayal of Kelli and Grant's white-hot romance.

Hoping for a twist

It was a good story, but I can’t remember ever hoping the couple didn’t end up together because it won’t be happily ever after. Grant is a total narcissist.

No cussing, wonderful

It was a easy listening romance with no cursing anywhere. How refreshing and wonderful. At times I found the narrator a bit boring and she breathes loudly (listening with earphones it can be a bit irritating).

Didn't like Narrator

Book was good, but the narrator didn't do it any justice. Put me to sleep.

Grant is Toxic AF

This book started off ok. Then it took a nose dive somewhere between Chapter 6 or 7. For me, it was him deciding to show his true colors and lose his temper. The words he said were not words I’d easily forgive and forget.

Come Chapter 11, Kelly should have stuck to her guns and left him in the rear view mirror. She knew him for two weeks and he blew up at her twice because his man ego got a boo boo and so he was an @$$hole to her. Dude also love bombed between the almost Hulk Smash outbursts. Reminds me of a toned down version of It Ends With Us, just minus any physical blows. I just kept thinking, “Girl, RUN. Those red flags are on fire.”

Then there was also one part that had me hear a record scratch and a “hold up.” Again, she knew him for two weeks, they magically fall in love, drop the L bomb, talk living together and kids, and she draws the line at leaving Seattle and working with him. She neeeeeeeds her independence. Girl, you’re codependent and you don’t even know it.

Easy listen, but not a fan of the MMC. At all. She also needs to thicken her skin and grow a spine.

narrator killed it for me

I couldn't get beyond five chapters. Just didn't hold my interest. Not enough variation of characters to hold suspension of disbelief.

Horrible Narrator

Couldn't get through the 1st chapter. Sounds like she's trying to seduce you. And listening to her breathing...smh
