All Maggie wants is to be left alone.

She bought a house in the middle of nowhere, a secluded, private place where she thought she'd live out the rest of her life alone. But fate has other plans....

All Catherine wants is to disappear.

Maggie finds a mysterious, silent woman in her barn one frozen winter morning. The beautiful stranger can't speak, but she's obviously been through hell. That solitary, secluded life that Maggie wanted so much is about to be blown right open by a lovely woman who needs her help desperately....

Someone is after Catherine - someone who wants her dead. As Maggie's life begins to unravel, she must choose between a normal life or the dangerous task of keeping Catherine alive.

Maggie's falling for the beautiful woman with all her heart...and she just might end up dead because of it.

Wow Loved this book

I am not really into werewolf and fantasy, but I was glad that the story even being a werewolf story didn’t make a whole thing out of it. The part of the werewolf came out only rarely.
This was a very well written book, with well developed characters ones you quickly learn to love. It was very difficult to leave the book because life takes precedent.
I think this is one of Bridget Essex best if not the best book. Marina Barret was phenomenal, her voice is excellent, fit this story extremely well and sexy.

An exciting tale

This is one of the better Essex book I have listened to. Maggie is an author who lives with her rescued animals on a small farm on the edge of the Allegheny National Forest. One winter morning she goes to the barn and finds a mute women hiding in the hay loft. The story unfolds from there and fate takes a hand.

It was so exciting to hear the struggle Maggie went through in a winter storm and on an icy river, like a Walt Longmire story (only Maggie does this in her wolf form). The narrator, Marina Barrett, was perfect for telling this tale. I recommend the Audible of this book as it brought the whole adventure alive. I was enthralled by parts of this tale.

repetitive with stupid heroine

the repetitive nature and purple prose id much of this turned me off.
the final insult is the heroine acting so stupid just to advance the plot. there's area better ways to do what was needed
